My claim to fame: I was the last person to ever begin posting in Season IV. I was shocked when I hit submit and saw the thread was locked!

I was talking to my brother today about you - he also has an interest in Kenya and is going there soon. He asked me, and I wasn't sure, so I figured I'd ask this question to you: What do you do when you're in Kenya?

I work at the Maisha International Orphanage in Kisumu, Kenya in the Western Part of the country near Lake Victoria and the Ugandan border.  I just help with the building projects on the grounds, the medical clinic, even computer support as there is a computer lab on the Maisha grounds and mainly just love on the kids and the widows and let them they're not alone in the fight and that someone 10,000 miles away in the Midwest/Southwest United States loves them and more importantly that there is a God who loves them.  The same God that created the entire universe and spoke it into existence, the same God that called Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and started the nation of Israel is the same God that loves them individually, sent His Son to die for them, knows the very number of hairs on their head.

Shocked
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Is loving on the widows allowed? I believe there are also some verb tense problems. I would be very impressed if he can love on children all the way from Utah. That state has a history of non-traditional family structures, but I'm pretty sure loving on children is not allowed,

When you send money to Kenya, how do you do it. Do you just give it to the orphange or what?

Yes, I go through the Orphanage.  Its all tax deductible.
I certainly hope you have some trustworthy people working there.

You can also boil any veggie. But only for a minute. You don't want them to get mushy. And corn is just like eating bread. Nothing wrong with it, but def not a veggie. It's a giant mutant grass, same as wheat.

I suspect (but am not 100% convinced) that boiling water is within Bushie's skill set. Roasting in oil may be too complicated Tongue

How many cheat snacks did you eat with the Super Bowl? I had a lot of pizza and am in no place to criticize...

Talking to my mother on the phone makes me depressed too. No worries.

I took the opposite approach of Bushie. I enjoyed a cheat weekend with the Super Bowl and greatly overindulged in pizza Sad I also skipped the gym Sat, Sun, and Mon. Made it back to the gym today, and found exercising much more difficult that I remembered. No more 3 day breaks! And no more pizza!

I'm not sure how Bushie's neurons fire, but for me, there are quite a few foods that I have to avoid completely because once I pop I can't stop. Chiefly among them are ice cream, potato chips and pizza. I wish I could consume only a bit. But I can't. So I don't get any.

What a paradox! Bushie is morbidly obese because he prefers industrial sludge to legitimate food. Can't say I'm surprised though.

As an intro to fresh foods, try some snow peas. They don't require any cooking and are very sweet for a veggie. They're very snackable as they come in small hand held pieces. A half pound should cost you about $2.

Good choices at the store can be expensive, but they don't have to be. As you've pointed out, the real money is in eating out. A decent restarant meal with drink tax and tip will be at least $15.  Even at fast food, you're looking at $8. And look how little you get for your money. Cooking requires just a little bit more time. You don't have to make anything complicated. Just grab a cheap cut of chicken or beef. Do not fry it! Find something green and fresh that you like. Do not fry or overcook it! Go easy on the bread, rice, or potatoes, but a little of one is ok.  Go easy on the butter. Olive oil is a much better fat with your carb. No sugary drink. Boom. Healthy tasty meal. The only healthy foods that are very expensive are seafood and a few fruits, especially when out of season or exotic ingrediants for people who try to get fancy. Steaks can get pricey too, but I don't think I'd call a 16 oz Tbone healthy Tongue

Can't Bushie just buy some low-fat/low-calorie ranch dressing or something? Surely he enjoys the taste of ranch dressing, as most stunted American palettes do.

Dukie's vinaigrette dressing actually tastes better. A chef taught me to make it, when I complemented his dressing at a restaurant. He also gave me a jar of it to take home. I told my waiter to praise the chef on the dressing he made, and the chef came out with the jar later, and so forth. Sometimes it "pays" to thank folks for jobs well done. Who knew?
And sometimes it pays to pay people a reasonable wage for their labor. Who knew?
I so don't get ranch dressing. Unlike many fatty cheat snacks, it actually tastes bad. If you're gonna go down the dairy fat road, screw salad. It's all about ice cream!

Poor criminal. Went through all that trouble to hack an account and all he got was Bushie's chump change.  If you're going to commit a felony, you may as well make it worth your while.  Go after Torie's accounts Tongue

You need to be careful giving your card numbers to porn sites. Most of them are as unprotected as raw dog sex with a prostitute.

Oddly enough, it was a porn site, but I don't remember ever signing up for that particular site.  I have no idea how they got a hold of it, but to avoid this coming out in March, I am going to shut down my entire bank account and reopen it tomorrow after work.

All porn sites sleep together like all strippers grind their cooter on any man's cock that slips them a dollar bill. In short, if you give your card number to one site, you may as well send it to all of them.
This is not true. Some are much more legit than others. The big boys and girls of the porn biz are pretty much as safe as amazon.com.

Why the anti-flavor orthodoxy? Do you guys never drink anything other than plain water? That sounds really boring.

One thing you ought to conider is that your job longevity- the time you spend at each place of employment- will be a factor in others determining whether or not they will hire you. If I have a drifter come before me wanting to build houses and I come to find he's held five jobs in the past year- that makes me suspicious of his reliability
My advice- stick with a job longer then you seem to be inclined to do, and it will help your cause when you want to move on...

We've mentioned it like a hundred times.
I believe BRTD even made a Hitler video about it on youtube.

Bushie, it's not that hard to get on well in a call center. I just signed paperwork to end the 10 month probationary period and get a $1,700 raise for the year at the end of the month. It's not hard, you just have to keep working.
Have you considered that you may be more skilled at this type of work than he is? We all have our talents and shortcomings.

I haven't had to look for a job for several years. Are skype interviews now common? Seems like one would need to make the computer room pretty in addition to the usual extra appearance fussing. I don't think I would like it. Not that how interviews has anything to do with the preferences of the interviewee.

If I am eventually offered the position, I will take it, but if I don't get it, I'm going to suspend the job search for at least six months if not one year.
All things considered, do you want to change jobs or not? Simple yes or no question. Unless this offer is just too good to be true (and let's all hope it's not; we all know where that road leads) the above does not make any sense at all.

Plus, working out.  None of these movies are over 90 minutes.
Even if they were only an hour each, that's five hours on the couch. In actuality, it's probably more like seven. You're, of course, more than welcome to spend your evening however you like. I don't want to come across as judgemental because that's not my angle at all. Mostly I'm impressed with your ability to sit still for that long. Not many people have that kind of slothful endurance. And I'm glad you're playing the Biggest Loser. Do you find the workouts strenuous? If not, it's not a good workout. I'm 100% unfamiliar with the game though I used to play Wii Fit a lot. It was fun and better than nothing, but an extremely mild workout.

This thread needs some serious opebo. I don't see his moving home as being all that horrible. It sounds as if he's bankrupted not just himself but also his parents with the whole Utah venture. The whole Brown clan has gotten themselves into this mess and they're going to have to work together to get out as best they can.  At this point the most pragmatic step for everybody is for him to move back in with his parents and contribute to their well being for a change. Not like he'll be the only 30 year old at home. This is the face of today's America. I just hope they can all get along reasonably well.  It will be a trying experience for everybody.

I wonder if Bushie has done his taxes yet. His returns should be interesting. He better get a lot back with his current plans...
Unless you have legitimate children, it's hard to get a lot back on a personal return when you haven't worked enough to put much in. A few hundred dollars from the EITC and a few hundred more that he had withheld throughout the year.  What else is there?

Also, having a job and looking for a job are not mutually exclusive. Bushie needs an easy to get job for right now. Go work in a grocery.  You'll learn about food while earning at least some money. And then look for a better, more permanent job as well. You don't have the luxury of being unemployed right now. Also, unless you've been canned, why would a job not allow 2 weeeks notice? It's a courtesy to them, and most employers won't have kind things to say about you if you don't give it.
