Tsvetanov's word choice was somewhat less categorical than what most foreign media are suggesting it was. While he said that it was certain that the terrorists were person who had lived in Lebanon and had Canadian or Australian citizenship, but that they were connected with Hezbollah was a "justified assumption". Of course, that's most likely true, but obviously more information would be needed to prove it for certain. The minister also stressed Bulgaria's good relations with Lebanon, hoping that they would cooperate on the investigation. With Hezbollah so influential in Lebanon, not likely to happen, though of course convicting the perpetrators in court was never the important part...

The newly elected Bulgarian foreign minister Kristian Vigenin has stated that the evidence linking Hezbollah to the bombings is not as conclusive as the previous government had claimed. Note that the opposition (of which Vigenin was then a member) sharply criticized the decision of the government to announce a connection without direct evidence.
This might be important as the EU is still debating whether to blacklist Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.

Maybe, finally, the EU can put one of the most obvious terrorist organizations on their terrorist organization list.

Today is the one year anniversary of the attack and the 19 year anniversary of the bombing of the AMIA building in Argentina by the same Iranian/Hezzy scum.

It's official, EU has put the Hezzies (at least the military wing) on the terror list.  3 decades of appeasement didn't work, lets see how it goes to only half ass it.

2 sentenced to life in absentia over Bulgarian bus bombing
Quote
A Bulgarian court on Monday sentenced two men to life in prison for their involvement in the 2012 bombing of a tourist bus that killed five Israeli tourists and their Bulgarian bus driver and injured nearly 40 people.

Meliad Farah, a dual Lebanese-Australian national, and Hassan El Hajj Hassan, a dual Lebanese-Canadian national, were sentenced in absentia as their whereabouts are unknown, said prosecutor Evgenia Shtarkelova. They are the subject of an Interpol red notice.

On July 18, 2012, Mohamad Hassan El-Husseini, a French-Lebanese national, blew himself up on a tourist bus at the airport in the Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Burgas.

According to witness reports, the man was trying to put his backpack inside the luggage compartment of the bus along with the Israeli tourists when it exploded.

Prosecutors could not establish whether the explosion was triggered by the bomber himself or remotely detonated by one of two defendants, who were convicted of providing logistical support to the bomber.

An investigation found that the attack was the work of the military wing of Hezbollah, leading the European Union to declare it a terrorist organization.

Bulgaria’s chief prosecutor said recently that Hezbollah was behind the attack “in terms of logistics and financing”.

The ruling can be appealed to a higher court.

Re your sig, I do wonder what MLK would have thought of Israel these days.

(and yes, I know this is veering off topic)

Is necroposting on this board really necessary for that. Why this thread?

peace for Israel still means security.  Bibi may not be ideal, but he's still better than any Palestinian leader.

Ohhh, now I see.

This is an incredibly dumb move by Hezbollah, pretty respective on how intelligent the leadership of the  organization (Iran) is. Petty terrorism for terrorism’s sake however isn’t usually Iran’s or Hezbollah’s modus operandi. I don’t see them gaining anything from this, as we’ve seen, unless they just want to do some flexing. Normally they target enemy combatants or high ranking officials for the bragging rights. As it stands, it’s disgusting violence against innocent civilians.

The unfortunate thing about MLK is how much he, a socialist, has had his words usurped by people who would have hated him when he was alive. That includes so-called "libertarians" who love authoritarian governments and militaries.

I doubt very much he would have approved of the current apartheid situation. Certainly, those words were spoken before Israel decided, intentionally, to slaughter Lebanese civilians in the 1982 Lebanese War (marking schools, churches, etc. as targets) and before they had transitioned into their system of settling stolen land from the Six Day War. Who knows, though, we can only speculate.

I also love their insistence that the only problem with Israel is the actions of the Netanyahu regime, as if they've never heard of Begin. Then again, given the source, that might not be far from the truth.

Might as well hold the applause for the next few years, given the very bad PR and straining order resources Hezbollah is experiencing that could break the group entirely. Almost time for the old guard to either hit the bucket or have a TOW be thrown at ‘em
