This conversation randomly came up and abruptly ended in the IRC chat, and I wanted the forum's opinion.

Openly, but somewhat mildly. I actually just came to this conclusion on the subway not an hour ago. I was running through my planned tattoos and briefly considered an =...which made me reconsider my enthusiasm. It's not big enough of a deal to be aggressively supported. I mean, big deal, yes, but it's just so simple and (hopefully) short term.

I openly and aggressively support lgbt equality, but I also dislike how the lgbt rights movement has become so focused on this issue.

Where is the option for neither Openly or Aggressively, but still support?  Kinda like being in the closet for support?

Openly, but I don't care that much about it. Issues like adoption or anti-discrimination policies are much more important to me.

I support it so mildly sometimes I feel as if I ought to oppose it.

Every time I see some anti-gay marriage "pro-family" protest, I feel like I'm listening to Oceania, Tis For Thee.

I of course "openly" favor allowing intra gender marriages, but am not "aggressive" about it. I am long past the days where I hector folks for their beliefs. I state my opinion on matters, and my reasoning, and call it a day. Few after that argue with me anyway. They know I'm right. Tongue

I'm not sure I'm aggressive about it, but I have so little uncertainty about it that I like going to bat for it.  I'd rather argue a relatively trivial issue that I'm certain about, than a very significant one where I have ambivalence.

Openly and aggressively. At times, its an issue that can make or break my opinion of someone. Civil rights issues are what motivate me to have any interest in politics.

Tricky, but voted openly and aggressively. I just cannot see why one would oppose it.

I suppose openly and aggressively if it was needed, but last time gay marraige was seriously debated in Canada, was 7 years ago. I was 14, in closet with social conservative leanings, so, not then, through.

No -as much as I support equality for the GLBT community, I have no intention of using it as a litmus test.  Ensuring that working people get a much greater share of the economic pie is a much higher priority to me.

How does one define "aggressively?" I am, of course, married to my lover AndrewCT. It's forum official.

But yes, I am very open about my support for gay marriage.
