Book series by Brian Jacques centered around an abbey run by mice. All the characters are various forest creatures, I assume locatable in Britain. Also, I think it was PBS that did a cartoon series on it, including I think three different arcs, that of Martin, Matthias, and Matteo. All mice of course. For some reason while reading "The Two Towers" earlier today my mind flashed to it, and I was wondering if anyone else had read them. My favorite book was probably "Taggerung", about an otter adopted by a tribe of bandits as their "messiah" figure. Pretty cool stuff, no doubt.

I remember a little story about that. Was it a story of people-like mice? I don't remember it because the last time I heard about that was 3 or 4 years ago.

Yes, but hardly on the epic scope of the Redwall series, which spanned hundreds of leagues (or whatever unit of distance they used) and determined the fates of many animal empires.
