OK, I don't know if this has been played here before or if you have played it before but on another forum I go on we sometimes play a game called Mafia. I'd thought I'd bring it over here.

Rules:

* In general, there are two factions - the town, who win when they get rid of all of the Mafia, and Mafia, who win when they control 50% of the lynch votes. Third-parties have their own win conditions.
* Every day phase, the town must choose one person to lynch. If they do not wish to lynch then they must vote no lynch. The day finishes in 24 hours, or when a lynch has been reached (whatever comes first). A lynch is reached when someone has a majority of votes.
* Every night phase, the Mafia must choose one person to kill. There are also power roles that must be fulfilled. These last 24 hours or when all night orders are in (whatever comes first)
* You make one post when you are dead, but it can only be a "Go team, thanks for the game" kind of message.
* Don't quote anything from the moderator, or talk about the game outside this thread unless your role states you can.
* You must post every day.
* For now it will be run without a theme. Eventually more complex Mafia games with themes will be introduced.

For further information, go here.

OK, fire away. Make your player list like this:

1. Player A
2. Player B
3. Player C

etc etc.

YES ONLINE MAFIA.

Fond memories of summer programmes gush forth. Ah, the good old days.

've never played mafia on a forum, but it's a brilliant game. Consider me signed up.

Playing a lynching game makes me feel uncomfortable.

Indeed, a great game. I don't really have time to play on here at the moment, though.

I have trouble envisioning how that can work online.

Great to play in person, of course.
