I dunno about you, man, but I live in the biggest culinary destination in the southeast. The places I go to don't have low quality crap. Well, except the bars, and I only go there to get trashed anyway.

Well, there are plenty of restaurants that are not inferior. But they are expensive. Here's a place I think you'd like very much. I just can't afford it Smiley

I wouldn't go that far, though I think eating out regularly is foolish. Back when my family used to get a long better, my parents, my grandmother, my brother, and I would always go out whenever anybody had a birthday. To a place of similar quality as the restaurant whose link I posted. And it was a nice treat. For the night out as much as the food. But getting the family together and spending half as much money to wait for a table at Chili's and then have to have the senses assualted by all that Chili's exudes, would not provide half as much benefit. The screaming children, the desperatly overworked staff running as fast as they can, the noises of a hundred other diners, and the poor quality food all add up to a very stressful evening. I'd rather take the money, go to Kroger, and leisurely cook something tasty. It's a shame more people don't cook in the 21st century. I find it a great stress reliever and the poor quality of restaurant  slop (to say nothing of fast food) is a major contributor to the sorry state of American health. My absolute favorite cooking arrangement was when I was in college. There were 6 of us in a duplex. Everybody had one night a week to cook, so we always had dinner provided and we only had to take the time to cook once a week. Aside from the no real responsibilities, it was the best thing about college.

But good lord men, what alternative is there?  Get a cook?  I hope you don't propose attempting it oneself.  After all there is such a thing as quality of life.  (and besides having comestibles in one's residence is unsanitary).

I enjoy cooking, though I can accept that others do not. An arrangement similar to the one I described above from my college years suggests a solution, though it would be highly unorthodox. If one can afford a cook, I see nothing wrong with that, but it seems not many could. Perhaps with the aid of "romance" one could convince a female to live in the home and cook for free.
