No JNK, or is he uninterested? Not that I think he'd win a contested primary... but much preferable to Diaper Birther or Dardenne.

State Sen. Gerald Long is looking to run.

Despite being an R, he is the distant cousin of the legendary Kingfish. Its kinda like how Jay Rockefeller is a D from a famous R family.

He'd be another good alternative to Vitter.

Multiple Pubs makes it easier for Landrieu to clear 50, of course a lot can happen in nearly 3 years.

Hasn't Dardenne basically been preparing support for his run here forever?

Democrats have landed their first candidate with State Rep. John Bel Edwards of Tangipahoa Parish.

Edwards has served 6 years in the legislature. Despite being white, he represents a black-majority district reaching from the MS border into Hammond.

Governor of Louisiana. Jindal is term-limited and unpopular anyway.
