Pet hate of mine: Internet assumptions of "solid" states... and that the final result of 2000 was in someway a "perfect" reflection of the politics of each state (that "red state v blue state" bullsh*t)... the Internet has destroyed peoples ability to keep things in perspective... Bah...
it hasn't been good for peoples typing skills either.

The South is no different from anyother region... every state votes it's own way...
Huh? Alot of regions have all of their states vote the same way...Pacific coast, Northeast, South, etc.
No... NC and AL do NOT vote in the same way...
They have in every presidential election since 1968.
No... the person that won the state has been the same since the 70's... But they do NOT vote in the same way.
What you just said is "they have voted the same way for the [ast 35 years...but they do not vote the same way."
Maybe JMF has a point when he says not to bother pointing out contradictions to Realpolitik.

Vorlon, your map agrees with mine except for three states- Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
Boss Tweed, your map is way too pessimistic. Are you really a Democrat?

I've seen other posts of yours, it's apparent that you're not too fond of Kerry. Who would you have preferred for the nominee?

I voted for Edwards on the March 2nd New York primary...I supported Dean for a while before that...I would have like Lieberman, Dean (if you lose-lose in style), Edwards, and Gephardt over Kerry.

OK, let me put the question another way: who would have stood the best chance of beating Bush? Since it was largely on that basis Kerry got most of his support. You clearly don't think Kerry can win, did you think anyone could or is it just hopeless?

Edwards or gephardt would have had the best chance.

Do you think Edwards as VP would help matters?

Edwards would do little as VP unless he was VERY VERY active, to the point where Kerry became overshadowed.

Wisconsin is always close and I hope Bush wins it!
It was so close last time and it will be this time but Bush will either win or lose Wisconsin by 2%.
