I would like to apologise for my comments. It was literally a comment made in frustration. I know JCL is not insane, nor do I fear his presence in any way. I know he's a person of very strong principles, most of which I disagree with and some I honestly find deeply offensive. But having said all of that, he is active and thoughtful, and the point in human trafficking is certainly valid.

Also, I would warn against getting on high horses about others who you perceive as being on a high horse, when someone was only expressing a badly thought out point, in a terrible way.

It is kind of difficult to defeat cavalry with infantry, unless you can decimate their ranks with superior firepower and preferably artillery before the cavalry makes contact with your infantry ranks, at which point only a massed formation with bayonets fixed (which should cause the horses to scatter typically and yes without doing harm to the horses as they are smart creatures, atleast this is how it was depicted on the History Channel in the context of Waterloo one time) could withstand the onslaught provided that no body attempts flight that is.

I voted, more or less, according to my honest preference (which is not without reason, see below). I don't see why you guys are complaining about this as "bullying", but not about people preferencing, for example, waffles over Velasco. Although… perhaps I went a bit overboard.

*ahem*
Mr JCL, I would like to apologise for giving you a lower preference than officepark. That was cruel of me.

Look, I've heard this (with different specifics) many, many times before -- "he has strong principles, they're just different from yours", "he means well", etc etc. But seriously now, JCL thinks that I, and my whole class of people, are abominable crimes against nature. (Some others do as well, of course, but they're generally not as vocal.) If you're going to consider the fact that I don't want that kind of person anywhere near my government to be "bullying", then go ahead. That's your problem. But I stand by my vote.

I don't recall anyone saying that you had to vote for him to not be bullying him.

I'm curious, how would counting be handled if we ended up with all three candidates having an equal number of first preferences?

Bit early for that of course, but saying so now gives JCL a chance if he picks up a few and Gass get's a few.

It does seem early, but there are only four votes remaining in the Mideast: you, TJ, Al, and Nik. No matter how those votes pan out, Ben makes it to the final round and defeats either JCL or Gass.

Ah. I had counted more than that. Well that's good Smiley I can vote now.

Ben's election is certain unless some of his supporters invalidate their votes and afleitch suddenly supports JCL. I'm glad that the outcome of the election doesn't hinge on one single vote because I imagine the interpretation of Al's vote for "Gassmanynumbers" could be contentious in a very close election. Wink
