So... this is based off a game I used to play on 4Chan a lot.  Its original rules are a little hard to follow here, so I made a few changes to them.  If it doesn't work or if I figure out a way to make the game better, I'll change the rules at some point in the game.



Rules
1.) Post what you would like to see happen to the map (wars, annexations, divisions, states renamed, etc.).  (Feel free to get creative and write a little story about what happens!)

2.) Each day (or ever so often), I will pick two Actions (posts that change the map) and their effects will be reflected on the map.  Sometimes I might take an Action and throw in a 'twist.'

3.) Actions can only be made by each member once a day.

4.) The only states/countries playing are the ones on the map.

5.) Actions can only affect the map, and not the rules of the game.  The Game Administrator (myself) is the only one allowed to make rule changes.

6.) Nothing retarded like "alien super dicks take over and everybody dies" or whatever.

To start us off: The Imperial Dominion of the South feels betrayed by Texas's long held independence and invades it.  The Texas National Guard, though strong, is unable to hold off the might of the IDS Army, and so is forced to surrender almost half its land.

New Montana claims Northern Texas.

Pennsylvania, Delaware, and the southern half of New Jersey secede from New New England and form the Socialist Workers' Confederation. With the South distracted in a war with Texas, the Red Army liberates Maryland and West Virginia.

The Mormon Theocracy of Utah seeks to bring all Mormons under its fold, so it invades Eastern Idaho.

Anchorage Metro Area rises in revolt against Russian misrule, wants to join California. Rural natives otoh are very happy with Russian administration.

The Midwestern League invades Kansas.  (Doesn't matter whether or not they win.)

While the South wages a (fairly successful) war with Texas, the Socialist Workers' Confederation is formed.  With all the Southern military's resources in Texas, the SWC is able to liberate Maryland and West Virginia and annex their territories.  Vermont, witnessing the start of a nation more tailored to its political interests, secedes from the Northeast and is annexed into the SWC as well.

The King of Florida unexpectedly dies in a plane crash while returning from a diplomatic visit to the IDS. The late king's younger brother and his eldest son both proclaim themselves to be legitimate heir to the throne; the royal family and the nation at large become bitterly divided. Rumors emerge that the late king's plane crash was the result of sabotage and that his brother's bid for the throne is covertly receiving the support of the IDS.

This looks fun. Political and business leaders from Michigan and Massachusetts begin a series of closed-doors negotiations dedicated to discussing the possibility of forming a political union, under the new names "West Romneyland" and "East Romneyland", respectively.

The United States of California invades the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Washington and Oregon leave the United States of California and form the new nation of Cascadia along with British Columbia. The USC realizes that they probably wouldn't be able to defeat the Cascadian guerillas in the heavily forested and mountainous region of Cascadia, and lets them go, using their troops instead to put down nascent uprisings in Arizona. The USC changes it's name to the California Republic to reflect the territorial changes and becomes a unitary state, dissolving the state governments of Nevada and Arizona.

The SWC, to boast its rising power, invades the former United States capital and burns it to ashes, annexing it quickly afterwards.  Angered and frightened by the violent aspirations of the SWC, all other nations immediately levy economic sanctions against it, but it refuses to repent for its imperialistic actions.  In response to international criticism, the SWC invades the state of Virginia and attempts to annex it, but these efforts are thwarted by the powerful military which is heavily based around Chesapeake Bay.

Meanwhile, in Hawaii, the Queen succumbs to a horrendous skin disease, leaving King Houlukiani to run the kingdom.  He is only in office for eleven days before he is assassinated by a USCA nationalist in a street in Honolulu.  The kingdom, now without a wise and experienced leader to guide its military, is quickly overtaken by the United States of California after an invasion.  All other nations levy economic sanctions against USCA as well, and the Midwestern League forms an alliance with New New England in preparation for what might be a very deadly war.

The IDS, after feeling resentment, invades the Kingdom of Florida for an effort to gain more land.  As with their invasion of Texas, they are not entirely successful, but are able to grab a significant portion of territory.  The panhandle, more culturally in line with the IDS, is soon annexed.

Meanwhile out west, Oregon and Washington secede from the USCA and form the Republic of Cascadia, openly opposing the USCA's recent actions against Hawaii.  The Republic of Cascadia is welcomed by New Montana, the Midwestern League, and New New England, and the three nations sign treaties promising to attack any nation that invades their territories.  A strong alliance is soon formed.

Arizona, New Mexico band together citing Spanish roots to create Nueva Mexicanos. Intense fighting from California, New Montana, IDS fail to stop the new nation and instead cause widespread problems through their region. With billions going to a war so far away the states of Virginia and North Carolina declare independence as the Free Central States.

Alienated by the increasingly left-wing politics of the United States of California, separatists in Nevada argue for joining the Utah theocracy, christening their proposed majority-Mormon state the "Holy Empire of Deseret".

The map becomes even more divided and the situation turns even more violent.  Some of the states, in fear of losing territory and lives during the impending war, expand their territories by uniting with other states and forming their own nations.  Neighboring countries are unable to stop these new nations and instead cause widespread problems through their region.  With billions going to a war so far away the states of Virginia and North Carolina declare independence as the Free Central States.

Arizona and New Mexico join Mexico as the 32nd and 33rd Mexican states, while Mexico occupies El Paso and the Rio Grande valley, with the support of the locals.
