Eight years after Eugene Debs was elected President of the United States of America, President Stedman is left to defend his legacy. The last eight years have been rocky for the nation. Political battles between parties in Congress, the Presidency, business, labor, and so on have nevertheless resulted in large Socialist victories in the last two elections. Economically, after Debs' first tumultuous term, things began to ease. The death of the President in 1926 and the resulting period of public mourning gave Stedman, the new national executive, a certain amount of room in dealing with political adversaries. However, with the election, the parties are as belligerent as ever. While President Stedman defend the last eight years, Mr. Hoover is using his business experience, his personal story and background, and his Great War reputation to demonstrate that he can best manage the new economy. Meanwhile, Smith, the "third wheel" of the election, is using his record as a reformer in New York and his appeal to immigrants and urbanites to try to cobble together a winning coalition.

Stedman of course. We must continue the late, great Debs' legacy.

Stedman of course. We must continue the late, great Debs' legacy.

Also, if Socialists are getting elected President, wouldn't that trickle down at least somewhat and allow Stedman's running mate to hold a title more important than "city councilman"?

I don't want it.  Do you?

The Hell? I probably clicked on something accidentally when I went to check the results. I apologize for that. It doesn't look like I can remedy this situation, so Atlamerica, what would you have me do? Keep this thing going? Or just tear it down and open a new thread?

They will go back into the single digits after the great depression I believe. The workers will realize the mistake and vote for the working class party.

Meh, we have 40 votes. That's good enough. Call it.
