An inverse to the other thread, I'm surprised I will be the one to start it..

Anyway, Idealism would be the obvious thing.

They are for the enviroment.

that about sums it up.  Definitely, better than those politicians that claim "we need to take action against the environment".  I would never vote for them.  I do like how the Greens (in America) are most grassroots and more honest.  I don't care for their means of accomplishing action though.

The Green party supports peace and democratic reform.
They offer an alternative to the two corrupt corporate parties.

I think that the party has some interesting applications in urban areas - I'd rather see them as an urban planning/environmental lobbying party.

lots of things.

One of the main things is they're honest about who they are.

In Nebraska most democrats would never take an NPAT test or anything like that because they don't want the conservatives to rally around them on issues like abortion or gay marriage(or the iraq war when it was popular). Greens tend to want open government much more often also.

That unlike most major party candidates, Greens embrace their inner crazy while campaigning, rather than hiding it away until after they're elected.

They're to the left of other mainstream US parties.

I've considered joining the Green Party only due to the distinct lack of decent revolutionary socialist parties in the US, out of hope that other revolutionary socialists will have done the same.

They're for marriage equality, proportional representation, a sensible trade policy, and are to the left of the Democrats on labor rights. Those are things I can respect. Unfortunately just about everything else they're in favor of is downright mad.
