Senator you have 24 hours to begin advocating for this.

If both Seantors are willing, I would like to see the the other resolution by Senator Napoleon merged with this one if possible via amendment. I will also be offering the text below, with some minor revisions, once that process has been completed.

Absent committee members haven't been an issue on the GOR Committee, but if this has been a problem for other committee chairs I'm willing to support this.

Absent members, hell absent chairs for heaven's sake. Haven't you followed the IA Committee at all? Tongue

I realize that it isn't expelling them from the Senate and thus doesn't fall into the 2/3rds Constitutional requrement, but wouldn't 2/3rds be better for matters of consistency? As long as it is tied to a day inacitvity requirement I don't think we have much to worry about anyway.

We ought to consider clarifying other portions of the committee resolutions while we're at it.

Most definately.

Also, I was holding mine back because I expected you were going to offer your seperate bill as an amendment to this one, and I thought it should go first. Is that still on?

Has anyone noticed that since passing the "Get It Over Act", we have still not managed to get the Committees going before two weeks after the start of the New Senate, give or take a few days? For some reason I expected it to have a greater impact, at least that was the intent behind it if memory serves me.

I think I could go for that, as a way to expedite the process.

Is an amendment going to be offered to effect that change?

Also when that is done, don't let me forget to give an administative flexibility amendment so that in cases of extreme need only the PPT can step it. I want the VP Doing this, but like with Duke being without internet access during his vacation for instance, it could be helpfull. I would prefer to structure it so that it isn't a common practice as part of the "negligent VP issue".

Also since we are making changes to various portions of multiple resolutions here already, we need to examine who it is being compiled together. Otherwise something might get messed up here and the last thing the committees need is us making the problems worse. Tongue

Also, how about that chairman selection change? Is that still in the works here?

I don't know if is out of date now, or if it was out of date before and then got updated, but I did kind of noticed that the Resolution you had introduced seemed to have been done previously.

The amendment has been passed.

We need to have a system in place so that if a committee chair takes a LOA (a legal one), someone else on the committee can be designated to carry on with business in his absence.

Also, we have to compile all of amendments.
