A Jedi mind meld?  Seriously?

The farce is strong with this one.

He apparently sequestered his logic.

Maybe Michelle will ask him, "Are you out of your Vulcan mind?"

That reminds me, I have a hunch Obama is a closet brony. Maybe Malia and Sasha turned him onto the show and showed him how awesome it is. If true, I hope he comes out.

I'll take $5 against that.

Yeah, Biden maybe, Gore, almost certainly, but Obama?  No chance he's a Brony.  He plays basketball for sh**t's sake.

Mitt Romney, whose favorite novel is Battlefield Earth, would have never made this mistake.  I'm going to put in a call down to the Secretary of State and see if it's too late to switch my vote over.

He should apologize to the fans (not his fans ...)

As a Trekkie I'm deeply shocked by such a heretical comment !

Was it Dan Quayle or Sarah Palin who confused the Jedi from 'Star Wars' with Getty the gas station?

Sure, but Obama's really more of a "Carlton" than "Will", if you get me.

On an unrelated note, Bill Cinton is a Brony. Sort of.

Reminds me of when people were seriously arguing that Obama's incorrect identification of the Penn State mascot would impact the result of the 2008 election.

The Jedi do have mind melds. Remember some song (I think it was Sheryl Crow) that said something about "Jedi mind tricks"?

Now I remember it was actually the '90s singer Poe, not Sheryl Crow.

Okay, while there is a Jedi mind meld in the Star Wars extended universe, apparently it is only done among Jedi.  I hardly think Obama thinks of the Republicans as fellow Jedi.  Sith perhaps with Darth Rove leading them, but not Jedi.

Well no one here is truly being serious. Of course the only people who were serious about the Penn State thing were J. J. and some other election year trolls.

I'm not too knowledgable of Star Wars, but there are pop culture references so ubiquitous in the culture that they seem hard to confuse, even if you're tired. This would be one. Speaking of sports, I've often wondered how much Obama knows about it as well - I really don't know, I'm not saying he doesn't. But I wonder how many of the 1985 Bears he could name. O-line or D-line?

And speaking of Dan Quayle, this is funny. I have a respectable classic football game collection. I have a game from 1990 where the Colts played the Giants on MNF, and before halftime the announcers had Dan Quayle on "to talk about football" or something stupid like that (because it was being played in Indy and it was a few days before election day '90), and the announcers were sickeningly going out of their way to kiss his behind, particularly Dan Dierdorf. Quayle was oblivious to it, talking about how he'd tried to recruit Jeff George. So Dierdorf started asking Quayle questions that were so easy you had to laugh, and Quayle was missing them. "What would you do here on 3rd and long, Mr. Vice President?" Dierdorf asked. "Uh, well, I wouldn't punt, I'd go for it," Quayle said. On 3rd down and long!! LOL. That's some football knowledge.
