Maher gets out the youth vote and takes Virginia, Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada, and solid Dem states. His avid atheism kills him in the South and Ohio though.

Miller's too hawkish for me, but I find his politics less offensive overall than those of Maher, so I'd probably vote for him. (I might vote for the Maher of 20 years ago though.)

As for who would win...



Miller (R): 312
Maher (D): 226

Maher's atheism goes over well in deep blue (sorry, I mean RED) areas but hurts him elsewhere by driving the religious right vote turnout through the roof.

Atheism can pretty much only hurt you politically.

The Mountain West has a lot of Hispanics that would turn against one and the Midwest is fairly religious.
