While he's probably favored to win, people are foolish to say he has it in the bag.

The Bush power structure doesn't exist in Texas anymore. George P. can get all the money he wants at fundraisers in Dallas. But can he get enough people to get out and vote for him?

Being a fundraising cash-cow and having great name recognition does not guarantee you anything in the Republican Party these days. If it did, then where's Senator David Dewhurst? Where's presidential nominee Rick Perry?

I like this simply because Democrats will hate it when another Bush is elected to high office in Texas.

You should hate it too, but instead you're a hack.

Well, I actually approve of President Bush. So, I'll enjoy it when the voters tell the haters to go f*** off.

Weren't you like 9 when Bush was reelected?

Seven, actually Tongue . The present tense is used as a courtesy for people still living. Besides, if we're allowed to have opinions of historical figures dead before our grandfathers were born, it makes perfect sense for me to have an opinion of George W. Bush, consistent with the qualities I value in a President and taking into account the circumstances of the time.

You value unnecessary wars and letting hurricane victims stand on their rooftops begging for help for days? You value unaffordable tax cuts and grossly expanding entitlements without paying for them?
