Due to multiple probes and a gambling scandal. What's going on, resident Floridians? Will there be a special election?

I'm pretty sure Scott appoints someone. And it's more "money laundering" then gambling. Ether way she's not directly imlicated in anything, she's just close to and heavily involved with the people and activities that got people arrested. I doubt it'll affect Scott, he and Carroll weren't seen as especially close. Also, she's had a lot of little scandals over the year, this just made everything much worse.

Apparently black women who look like Carroll are above the influence when it comes to same-sex relationships, but are not above having shady connections in the world of gambling and improper finances.

Scott gets the pick; the appointment likely goes to Anitere Flores, Jack Latvala, Dana Young, or Allen West.

Don't think it will be West. He's spent too much time and political capital shifting to the center to pick him, and picking Florida's Bachmann would undo all of that.

That's one side of the coin; the other is that picking West would shore up support with the right and allow him to shift to the center on things like Medicaid, but because of West he's a true conservative.
