About time. How else was he going to avoid a life sentence?

No link to an article - or anything at all, really - about who this person was?

Hardly necessary on a politics forum, I would think.

Maybe I would feel the need to explain if I were throwing around random names of American sports or television personages.

And also, frankly, the sort of name it is plus the comment in the first post is kind of a give away as well.

The Khmer Rouge Tribunal has not been exactly efficient. One sentence in six years is rather pitiful, considering the scale of crimes against humanity that were committed.

Haha, yes I guessed immediately what it was about though I didn't know in fact.  Love those Cambodian names.

And now they have only two ongoing trials left. They're probably hoping for Samphan and Chea to follow Sary's lead.

(Nerdesque Note: Yes, this follows naming convention for Cambodian. As everywhere in Eastern Asia the second name is the personal name - but when using only one name, in Cambodia you use the personal name not the family name. Hah.)

Translation:  You must be some kind of moron if you didn't know who this person was.

I expected this type of unhelpful condescending response from both you two, but I'm disappointed nonetheless.

Thank you, Vosem (!) for answering my query politely and without making me feel stupid.

This should tell you something about who is at fault here. Tongue
