This was a bill that simfan recommended. It just makes section 5 operate like Section 6 does.

Since obviously he is "unavailable", other then consistency of operation, I am not aware of any other advocacies for this. I invite the Senators and others to investigate the bill in question nad see if they see any reason to leave it as it is.

I wouldn't oppose this, but I agree with Senator Nix that it seems unnecessary.

I ask unanimous consent to waive the minimum debate time and the cloture requirement to proceed immediately to a final vote. Senators have 24 hours to object.

This should save a day. There is no reason to delay regardless of whether it is desired or not to be passed.

Nay

If this was a real situation, the task would fall to the departments, not the secretaries. So I have to assume that if this approval process was supposed to be "automated business" in the Atlasian context, it would've gone to the departments. Since the task was specified to go to the secretaries, things are up in the air. And I really don't think this should be actual work for the secretaries. So in my opinion, the amendment is unnecessary and a bit unclear.

This bill should not take nine days to be off the floor. Either pass it or fail it. It is fairly simple.
