Yay! First major election in a year.

I love that map. Cartograms are so much more useful than regular county maps.

I am so glad this election is held today and not on November 3rd.

Yeah, between this and Kentucky, it would be hard to follow Tongue

I have a gut feeling that the election day vote will be more pro-Vitter.

Looks like NoLA is going to be more pro-Vitter so far.

Dardenne seems to be nowhere outside BR.

Precincts are actually starting to come in now. The Attorney General race is actually quite interesting, that'll be a one to watch in the runoff. Looks like as areas like St Tammany and Jefferson come in, Vitter will indeed pick up that 2nd place slot.

What are the Angelle strongholds versus the Vitter strongholds?

Angelle = Cajun country
Dardenne = Baton Rouge
Vitter = Everywhere else, but especially New Orleans suburbs.

Expect Edwards to be above 40 when all said and done - New Orleans has barely reported.

Looks like northern part of the state and Acadania are more reported than the eastern part of the state. So, Vitter still looks like a clear favorite for a runoff to me.

Coming in quite fast now. Looks like a lot of Jefferson just came in.

Claiborne, Morehouse, and Saint Charles all finalized for John Bel.

St Charles is quite surprising. This is going to be the bluest map Democrats will see from Louisiana in a long time.

Edwards may actually win Livingston County. That's right, a county that went 84% Romney.

Any chance Vitter could lose? He's been up 2% consistently.

Would need a miracle.

Nearly 3/4 in. My prediction of what it'll end up being:

Edwards - 40%
Vitter - 23%
Angelle - 20%
Dardenne - 15%

Woah, something struck me hard. Edwards won Tangipahoa with 55%. Isn't it a pretty Republican parish?

He's from Tangipahoa, but still very impressive.

Ah, yes. He's also performing pretty strongly in the areas around it too.

We're mainly waiting on the rest of Orleans, Baton Rouge, and St Tammany. Overall, the rest of the votes should benefit Edwards and Dardenne.

Total Democratic - 41.4%
