I mean, at this point it's when, not if. Besides, most Americans support it already.

Do any of the R contenders support SSM? If not, do you think they will retcon their views and say they do when it's closer to election season?

They should not support it for the primary, they should support it for the general.  It's just how things are.  That's part of the reason why the Republicans have lost all the popular votes save one (2004) since 1988.

Whatever they do, they shouldn't do that. Such an obvious and transparent flip-flop in the middle of a campaign would be disastrous. No one on either side would want to vote for them at that point.

Well, they could refuse to address the issue before nomination.
