Some mild attention whoring here, I know, but please bear with me.

With all the stuff going on with gay marriage, today I posted a status to Facebook explaining why I support marriage equality. I'm already getting some nasty messages from some friends who don't support it. All of their arguments strike me as very regressive and tone-deaf.

I know the last "Opinion of MilesC56" thread was quite a mess, but Franzl and Alcon did get me to think more critically on this issue and, ultimately, to change my stance. For that, I'd like to thank them. Looking back, I'm glad I'm not still on the other side.

The only reason why gay marriage got to 58% support today is because of folks like you who actively and publicly support the cause in the face of sometimes brutal opposition.
