It's Texas. It's either him or someone like Ted Cruz and Louis Gohmert.

Isn't it more logical to assume that French-speaking people are going to invade MURICA through the Canadian border? Quebec is directly bordering Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York and someone gotta do something about it!

And worse, they look like Americans, so, the Arizona strategy doesn't work.

Five bucks says that Sen. Cornyn would be fine with letting someone from France stay in the country while someone from Mexico gets sent back home.

Clowns are the only ones allowed on the ballot.

And the GOP primary electorate in Texas is cheering them on.

I wasn't a big Cornyn fan to begin with, but he didn't start getting completely unhinged until after Cruz took office. For the past ten years, he's simply had to be slightly to the right of Kay Bailey Hutchison. Now he's trying to out-crazy Ted Cruz.

I don't see how the cited "facts" disagree with Cornyn's assessment that those coming across the border are diverse. We have known this for some time, and they are referred to as "OTMs or "Other than Mexicans".

I am worried that border security is being held up by the pro-enforcement side as the primary cosnideration, if anything it is just opening up an easy door for many of these Senators to vote for the eventual bill regardless of how flawed it is in other areas, especially with regards to interior enforcement, which is far more important then securing the border at this point with regards to the current situation.

He is very insane and completely stupid, which is what Texans look for in a politician.

He said "speaking French", though, not being French. He was probably thinking of Haitians.

He is from a border state and has some interest in being reelected.  He didn't want to seem anti-Hispanic so he sprinkled in some Chinese and French just to preempt the bigot card getting played on him.  Pretty transparent.  I've spent quite  bit of time in border states.  I've never met a French speaking or Chinese illegal alien.  I have met many European illegal aliens that simply flew over here on a visa and never left.  I know one Canadian that did that as well.  Odd how they weren't mentioned in Cornyn's little immigration rant.

You may or may not be aware that Arizona is 1/3rd Hispanic, the cops there don't (and couldn't even if they wanted to) pull over every brown person they see.  Yes, there are some stupid crap that goes on in the state, but it's nowhere near the hell for "brown" people some people would lead you to believe.

Said OTMs are overwhelmingly Guatemalan or other Central American.

That's even besides the point, which is due to the recession, the amount of people crossing the border illegally has plummeted due to the lack of work this side of the river, and there might even be a net decrease in illegal immigration due to people leaving the US by this point.
