The worst thing about metal is, you can't even dance or mosh to most of it. What the hell do people do at symphonic black metal or power metal shows? Even most death metal isn't particularly moshy, no breakdowns or anything.

Yeah, BRTD, just because you can't dance or mosh to metal, it makes it automatically bad. Everybody should adopt your standards.

Metal, nothing good at all about the other genre or BRTD's music. \m/

Guys, this is a hardcore vs. metal poll, not an opinion of BRTD poll. Metal is awful noise.

Alright, being more diplomatic because you're a good friend: have you ever heard the s**t BRTD listens to? It's the logical extreme of awful noise, with pretentious lyrics and terrible fans to boot. It has no melody, no meaning, no structure, no beauty and vocals that make me want to put my ear drums out with a ballpoint.

Even if you dislike metal, you really have to admit hardcore is beyond worse. Tongue

I wasn't referring to your post- I was referring to the poll results. They're ridiculous!

I disagree with your post but I strongly approve of it nonetheless. Smiley i highly doubt you will offend BRTD. Personally I like hardcore, but not all of BRTD's music. I listen to everything but country, metal, and other random irrelevant genres like emoviolence or christian emoviolence or pony fuccking. Can't hate on hardcore though.

What's the point of going to a "heavy" music show if you're not going to dance or mosh? It's not like it's a classical orchestra or something. I mean I don't mosh at every show I go to, obviously I didn't to Appleseed Cast. But I'm not just going to sit around and watch someone screech in my face for an hour.

Can't mosh to metal, what?

That's why I said symphonic black metal and power metal. Obviously it's not the case for lots of thrash and whatnot bands. But seriously why aren't people moshing in this video for example? And why do some metal forums have metalheads complaining whenever a band they like is touring with a deathcore or metalcore band that they'll have to put up with kids moshing and dancing and jumping around?

LOL that would fit with the lyrics well.

Have you ever actually listened to metal lyrics, or would would that prove too detrimental to your closed-minded, half-autistic, faux-Christian manchild bubble world? Seriously, stop talking about music while you're still remotely ahead of the curb, Hoss. You know nothing, you seem to have always known nothing, and you always will know nothing about music.

Of course I've listened to metal lyrics. Examples:

Yes, if only it could have vocals like metal vocals.

Of course not. He likes La Dispute and mewithoutYou.

BTW welcome back Svensson.

Listened to a bit of NYC hardcore back in the day. Also listened to Pantera. Eh whatever was a good soundtrack to break someones face open to was fine by me.  Tbs, most of both and every genre is crap.

A lot of my favorite bands are described as "hardcore (punk)".  Some are also referred to as "melodic hardcore", which is probably more accurate, but sounds awful pretentious.

Yeah, I tend to like this general genre.  Not a fan of the stuff BRTD's links to.

Can't really stand either genre, tbh.

I'm sure there's some good stuff out there among the dross, for both metal and hardcore, but again: there are only so many hours in the day.  And even the stuff there that's objectively good is probably not going to be particularly to my taste.

I hope everyone knows by now what my answer is. Actually, I've been listening to metal covers of video game songs lately, in particular the Black Mages.

Metal is obviously better in that the definition of the genre admits of listenability as an at least theoretical possibility. One that does in fact from time to time pan out, I should add.
