What TNF said is perhaps more apropos for KY, where he's from, and which is a demographically stagnant state.

True true.

This is mainstream Republican thought. Why is anybody surprised? It is those in the party who would disagree with these statements who are in the minority.
Ever been to Vermont, New Hampshire or New York? That kind of thought is certainly not mainstream for Republicans around here. Except maybe for some of the numskulls in my church, of course there are a lot of people in my church from Texas, Idaho, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Nebraska, not making that up either, there are a LOT of people from the South/Midwest in my church. But seriously that kind of awful thinking is not mainstream from Republicans or Democrats here.

For those interested in my response, I posted a blog post (3 in one week, after taking a break for months... yeah, some in my party have been pissing me off this week):

Edited down to exclude the factual introduction, since I already did that in the original post.  For those interested, the full post is here: http://inkslwc.wordpress.com/2013/04/01/schoolcraft-county-republican-party-calls-for-purging-gays-from-the-gop/

What I'd suggest you do, Inks, is use Word to create a form letter that you can just reuse. That way, the next time someone from the Michigan GOP says something that's way out of line with regard to race or sexual orientation, you'll be ready.

These hacks have no power to purge anybody from anything. F them. What you do, is selectively punish them at the ballot box. They shall learn. What I would do is push for jungle primaries myself. Smiley
