1972 Wisconsin Democrat Presidential Primary:

Blue: Senator George McGovern- 29.55%
Red: Governor George Wallace- 22.03%
Green: Senator Hubert Humphrey- 20.71%
Others:
Senator Ed Muskie- 10.26%
Senator Henry Jackson- 7.80%
NYC Mayor John Lindsay- 6.70%

What was George Wallace's appeal in Northern Wisconsin I wonder?  I find that surprising.

Well George Wallace had alot of Appeal to the blue collar workers who felt like they didnt have a voice so some decided to vote for wallace to make a point, the same effect happed in the Michigan Primary where  he took 1st with 50.9%, and Pennsylvania where he was second with 21.27%

I just think of those areas as filled with Scandinavian lumberjacks and dairy farmers, not really the Rust Belt workers I typically associate with Wallace's appeal in the North.

On the congressional districts: are there any that just cover part of a county?  It would seem to me that it would be fairer to try to redraw the maps based on that.  Otherwise, great work.

Had it not been for nantucket it would be spot on.

And Anderson was basically the last of the endangered species known as liberal republicans.
