Good afternoon, Atlasia! Hopefully everyone here is having a terrific Easter day. I am here to let you all know that I have announced my candidacy for the Mideast Assembly.
I have never yet sought office, so my resume right now may seem lacking, but I promise, if elected, that I will work with all parties to help Atlasia grow.
My beliefs on the issues are varied, but the key message in my ideology is this: people should be empowered to make the most of their own, God-given abilities and to live their own lives as free people in a free land. I support lower taxes and eliminating costly regulations, yet I also believe we need a higher minimum wage and a safety net for the most vulnerable among us so everyone has the opportunity to do well in this land. On the hot-button social issues, my belief is that so long as your actions do not violate the rights of other people, they should be allowed. This is why I support marriage equality and oppose measures such as an amendment to ban flag desecration. Just because we disagree with something doesn't mean we have the right to ban it. On the issue of abortion, I do differ from my Party in that I am pro-life, but I also recognize that an issue of such moral magnitude should be largely left up to the states and localities, rather than the federal government. As a whole, I believe that my centrist approach will serve the people of Atlasia well in the Assembly. I'll work to increase participation, reign in wasteful government spending, and protect people's rights
With all of this, I humbly ask that you vote for me in May, as well as my party colleague, Odysseus!
Thank you.
