1936 GOP nomination battle

   I've been looking for some data on the GOP presidential primaries and have found the overall results, but not state by state.  Apparently several states had favorite son candidates, but in several Sen Borah won, and I'm wondering if he was going head to head against Landon.
Also, why didn't Borah's wins translate into any more momentum against Landon?  Anyone know where to find good state by state detailed results?

Simply put, in those days, primaries didn't matter in terms of delegates.

Those who lost the 1936 GOP nomination must have been heartbroken, having missed out on the opportunity of a lifetime; they missed out on being trounced in a 46-state landslide in the general election.  They must have been very sad.

   I wonder how Borah would have fared against FDR.  I think its safe to assume an FDR victory, but Borah's populist progressive strain of politics might have won him more votes in the west than Landon won.
