In normal mode: Smith/Lodge. However, Wallace will make the election a lot more interesting...

"Martin Luther King described Wallace as ‘‘perhaps the most dangerous racist in America today’’ (King, ‘‘Interview’’). In a 1965 interview King said: ‘‘I am not sure that he believes all the poison that he preaches,’’ King said in 1965, ‘‘but he is artful enough to convince others that he does’’

There is no way he would accept that nomination...

That's what makes it fun!

What would happen if a VP assassinated a President? Ah well, it's unpledged electors so who knows what'll happen.

Well, don't the people who vote unpledged decide who the electors go for? Let's all start a massive King/Wallace insurgent campaign. Or Wallace/King, but I'd prefer MLK at the top of the ticket.

Well, of course SJoyce's love for Wallace is also pretty hilarious, but after all, he's a libertarian.

I really don't get states-rights libertarians. Is the freedom of the state to ban black kids from white schools really more important than the freedom of black kids to go to white schools? If it is, why can the federal government not do such things? Or can it? Are there any fundamental principles, besides the quite changeable Constitution, that say that states are better than the federal government?

Sjoyce isn't a libertarian and I don't think he would support Wallace IRL. If im wrong about that then he is scary!

He said several times in topics about the 1968 election that he would support Wallace. Only as the "lesser of evils" (LOL), but still.

And he's definitely a libertarian.

Wallace is the only candidate with truly malicious intentions so I don't see how he could be the lesser of two evils.

Apparently it has to do with his foreign policy. Because, you know, a neocon is worse than a segregationist...

Would it be bad form to go on a rant about how libertarians hate black people?

It's more about libertarians being (willfully or not, nobody knows) ostensibly oblivious to any form of basic morality other that "freedum!!!!1!1!11!111!1!!".

Scranton has the executive experience and international expertise for the position. He'll continue the moderate, cautious path of the late Eisenhower.

Not my reason for voting for Wallace. Pretty simple stuff: being segregated is bad - being napalmed is worse.

Johnson/Kennedy

We need Kennedy shouting from the White House for space, but in all other regards Johnson is superior.

Johnson/Kennedy

We need Kennedy shouting from the White House for space, but in all other regards Johnson is superior.

Solution: Elect President Gingrich in 2012.

We should all agree now that we will make this happen.

Well, even Gingrich can have a good idea or two.  I look into the heavens and see asteroids that can just come down and kill everyone, and ponder on how inadequate our space program is.  So...it is important to me, so I want Kennedy around.
