Only 29% believe aliens exist?  I mean, the universe is pretty big, possibly even infinite in extent.  Chances are pretty good that at least single celled life exists somewhere else.  That should count as "aliens".

5% of Obama voters believe Obama was the anti-Christ and voted for him anyways.

Well, to be fair, Romney is the anti-Christ and he still got 47%

You know what they say, the devil you know.

But it would be interesting to dig into that group of 3M voters. Were they evangelicals who thought "he might be the spawn of Satan, but at least he isn't a Mormon"?

I Imagine in a poll like this there will be people who would pick out a conspiracy or two  and say "sure whatever" to a choice or two.  I would have gone for the lizard people just for fun.

They were probably people thinking "Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer."

The mystery lives. The assassination of Lee Harvey Oswald, even if it killed 'the real killer' leaves so many unanswered questions.

If it was the KGB, the US government had to cover up the link to prevent World War III.

Oswald killed JFK because he wanted to steal the Jack Ruby.

PPP's "birther" poll from a few years ago also showed a non-negligible fraction of Obama supporters thinking he was born outside the US.  Of course, in that case, you could have had people who just had some vague notion that he might have been born elsewhere, but didn't actually know that this would create any constitutional problems.  In the anti-Christ case, it's a bit harder to square.

It's probably also fairly likely that in an automated poll a small number of people get confused about what button they're supposed to push.

The only conspiracy that I think is true is (and it probably isn't even a conspiracy, lol)....

* aliens - in a universe so big, surely there are other forms of life on another planet.

Out of the three most popular conspiracies....

* global warming - global warming is happening. The actual impact is questionable, and more importantly we are unconvinced how to tackle it, but it is not a hoax.
* Bush misleading people on WOMD's in Iraq - not intentionally IMO. I'd be more inclined to believe this if Cheney was the President, most likely he was just misinformed.
* JFK assassination - I doubt the more wackier conspiracies are true, but why did Jack Ruby assassinate LHO? If he didn't, then the case would be closed at this stage most likely.

The rest are just retarded fringe stuff, apart from the Hussain and the UFO ones, which has been debunked I think. Yes he was a scumbag, but I don't think he'd be stupid enough to enrage the US like that. I doubt UFO's crashed into Roswell either.

Well, 2-3% (5% of 50%) is about the share of the population I'd expect to be satanist. Tongue

JFK doesn't belong amongst that list of nonsense. This looks like one of those multiple choice things where you select the one item that doesn't belong. Actually, Oswald acting alone belongs on that list!

That's lizard people, UFOs, and Bigfoot. Lizard people? Cheesy A couple movies in the '80s about lizard people taking over, if I remember correctly.

Surprised 29% believe in aliens - I thought that one would be WAY higher. But actually, a lot of polls done show 80%+ for the JFK conspiracy, although that does qualify "large conspiracy."

All these conspiracy theories are nutty! Except my conspiracy theory, of course.

I find this funny coming from a dawg who but a few months ago was more for Romney/Ryan than myself.

Lack of trust in experts is our nation's greatest mental health problem.

Many of the "best and the brightest" in America were wrong about many things (Vietnam being an obvious example).
