I think $125B is a bit too high, considering that only a 2/3 majority would be necessary, and a single Assembly could rack up a $125B debt.

I agree with Inks, $125B seems way too high.

If we don't manage to put forward an amendment that is backed by two-thirds of the Mideast population I guess we will have to propose an amendment which solely consists of Section 1:

"1. The Mideast Government shall be responsible for passing an annual budget. This budget must be on the Governor's desk by July 1st of each year."

Most of the budgets that secure a "Mideast Emergency Fund" are fine with me, but I agree with Speaker Inks and Assemblyman Zuwo, the debt limit is way too high. In fact, I would suggest lowering it to half that amount.

Please keep in mind that the most recent version was able to pass a public vote by a very narrow margin, and would have failed had some individuals not interpreted the language wrong.

It passed...  Had I have interpreted it correctly, it wouldn't have gotten out of the Assembly like that.

What's your point?

My point was obviously, Mr. Speaker, to remind members of the Assembly that the last version passed since controversy was involved around it. ZuWo's statement earlier today seemed to suggest he wasn't aware the last version passed. Some folks may be supporting this simply to get something in the Constitution, and knowing that something is already in there may change their minds.

That was a lengthy way of saying, "The last version actually passed."

Because I think it's worth noting how controversial the last version was. Quit trying to read too much into what I said.

Voting is now closed.  The AYEs are 3, and the NAYs are 1, with 1 not voting.  The AYEs have it, and the amendment has passed.

Oh, I missed that vote. I would have voted AYE, so I'm glad it passed.
