With the focus being on the Senate right now, and knowing where things pretty much stand there, I'm wondering about the House and the Governors...

Which Democratic Governors and Democratic Congressmen don't support Gay Marriage?

Which Republican Governors and Republican Congressmen do support Gay Marriage?

These congresspersons are either fully opposed, or have no statements in support of SSM

Kurt Schrader (OR)
Ron Barber (AZ)
Jim Costa (CA)
Collin Peterson (MN)
Ron Kind (WI)
Cedric Richmond (LA)
Filemon Vela (TX)
Gene Green (TX)
Henry Cuellar (TX)
Pete Gallego (TX)
Terri Sewell (AL)
Bennie Thompson (MS)
David Scott (GA)
Sanford Bishop (GA)
John Barrow (GA)
Corrine Brown (FL)
Mike McIntyre (NC)
Nick Rahall (WV)
Pete Visclosky (IN)
Dan Lipinski (IL)
Bill Enyart (IL)

Out of those, I could see Owens, Kaptur, Enyart, Visclosky, Brown, Bishop, Scott, Thompson, Sewell, Green, Richmond, Kind, & Costa openly endorsing it.

Ron Kind will be pretty much forced to endorse it if he wants to run against Walker or Johnson.

Ron Kind won't win the nomination in 2016 if he doesn't support it, and, actually, campaigns for it. Wouldn't it be weird if two democrat senators from the same states would be a lesbian and a gay hater?

Wow, they have a negative trend. Compared to 5 years ago, they've gone down by one supporter (Arnold), while gaining governors.

Wikipedia is your friend.

I figured I'd update this with so many new SSM states. People who represent SSM States are bolded.

Republicans in favor:

Senate
Susan Collins (Maine)
Mark Kirk (Illinois)
Lisa Murkowski (Alaska)

Rob Portman (Ohio)

House
Charlie Dent (Pennsylvania)
Richard Hanna (New York)

David Jolly (Florida)
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (Florida)

Governors
None, but the following are not active in their opposition, all from SSM states.
Terry Branstad (Iowa)
Chris Christie (New Jersey)
Tom Corbett (Pennsylvania)
Mary Fallin (Oklahoma)
Gary Herbert (Utah)
Susana Martínez (New Mexico)
Pat McCrory (North Carolina)
Butch Otter (Idaho)
Mike Pence (Indiana)
Brian Sandoval (Nevada)

Democrats Against:

Senate
Joe Manchin (West Virginia)
Mark Pryor (Arkansas)

House
John Barrow (Georgia)
Sanford D. Bishop Jr. (Georgia)
Henry Cuellar (Texas)
William Enyart (Illinois)
Pete Gallego (Texas)
Dan Lipinski (Illinois)
Jim Matheson (Utah)
Mike McIntyre (North Carolina)
Nick Rahall (West Virgina)

Filemon Vela, Jr. (Texas)

Governors
Mike Bebe (Arkansas)

Although Jay Nixon supports SSM, he doesn't support it in his own state.

Also the Democratic govenor of Kentucky had some harsh rhetoric against same sex marriage. Sad It was discussed at lenghts on the forum only some months ago. "Moderate heroes" on the forum claimed he was a hero for opposing it. It's a strange world.

You've forgotten Heidi Heitkamp (ND) and Joe Donnelly (IN), they haven't endorsed it.

They both support it.

She said she's personally in favor, but not in favor of it politically because Louisiana.

How could you forget that amazing barrage of endorsements last year? Wink

It's pretty much mandatory for any Democratic politician of any national significance to bear the party line on marriage equality.

No, I think it's only Manchin.  Pryor and Landrieu have made ambiguous statements to the effect that they may not necessarily vote in favor of it in a legislative capacity, if I understand them correctly.

Is there a chance of any of the Republican Governors on my list turning around? All of them are from SSM states.

Arnold supported gay marriage 6 years ago. Great job going from 1 to 0 SSM supporters among governors, Republicans.

Surely Steve Beshear and Earl Tomblin still oppose it.

Surely Steve Beshear and Earl Tomblin still oppose it.

“Our state is known for its kindness and hospitality to residents and visitors alike. I encourage all West Virginians—regardless of their personal beliefs—to uphold our statewide tradition of treating one another with dignity and respect.” - Earl Ray Tomblin, on the legalization of same-sex marriage in West Virginia.

Rep. David Jolly (R-FL) also supports gay marriage.

Don't think Beshear has given a position on it.

Obviously she's retired now, but I thought it'd be of note that Olympia Snowe supports it.

Don't several ex-Bush cabinet members support it now?

Yes, and Bush himself may be a closet supporter.
