Good Evening, America. It's Election Night, 2032, and the polls are about to close in 6 states. Hopefully, by the end of the night, we will know the winner of this Presidential election. Will Senator Schock take advantage of the World War that broke out during Newsom's first term or will the president manage to hold onto a second term? Find out tonight!

President Gavin Newsom and Vice-President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin held a consistent lead in the polls, until Sentor Aaron Schock literally "Schocked" the nation by choosing popular California governor Ashley Swearengin as his running mate. Now keep in mind California is the president's home state so it's 64 electoral votes that were gaurenteed to him are now a tossup. Since that point, the two campaigns were in a virtual tie in the polls, with Newsom and Schock leading at different points. Both campaigns have done a great job explaining to the American people why their candidate should be elected. The Schock campaign explained that President Newsom should be taken out of office due to causing World War III, a conflict that could've been more much minor than it is today if it wasn't for Newsom's signing of the declaration of war in 2029. On the other hand, the Newsom campaign calls Schock a fool for not understanding that the war was inevitable and points out to the American public his strong leadership during the war.

According to the most recent RealClearPolitics average, the Schock/Swearengin ticket leads the Newsom/Sandlin ticket by an average of .3% nationally. However, President Newsom, Vice President Sandlin, and politicians that endorse them have been campaigning feverishly in the battleground states during the past 3 weeks. Will it be enough to pull out a win? We'll find out tonight.

It's 6:58, and we're coming up on poll closings in the states of Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Vermont, and Virginia.

Of these 6 states, non are "must win" for Newsom and the only one he carried in the 2028 election against then incumbent vice-president Eric Cantor was Vermont. However the Newsom campaign would very much like to Virginia the home state of Cantor as well as Georgia. Georgia hasn't been won by a Democrat since Clinton in 1992 but lately, Newsom has trailed Schock by a narrow percentage in several state polls. Political pundits believe that Gerogia has a near 50/50 chance of going either way and only tonight would tell who wins its 20 big electoral votes.

The polls are closing in those 6 states in 3.....2......1...........

At 7:00 EST, we can make the following projections:

In Georgia: Too close to call
In Indiana: Aaron Schock is the projected winner
In Kentucky: Too close to call
In South Carolina: Too early to call but Schock leads
In Vermont: Too early to call but Newsom leads
In Virginia: Too early to call but Newsom leads

Here is the electoral map at this hour. Mr. Schock has 10 electoral votes, Mr. Newsom has yet to recieve any.

(NOTE: Ignore the electoral vote numbers on the map, they are for 2012 not 2032)

Kentucky too close to call...

Now what happened there?

I'd like to see how this develops.

So I'm guessing a Democrat won in 2016, and lost reelection in 2020 to Republican, whose running mate was Cantor. Any chance we can find out the names of these previous Presidents? And which countries are involved with WWIII? Excited to see more of this!

No, Christie won in 2016 against Andrew Cuomo. However, he has a heart attack in 2018 and even though he survives he declines to run in 2020. Instead, his VP Marco Rubio becomes the Republican nominee who pulls a victory over Democratic contender Cory Booker. In 2024, Rubio wins re-election against Kirsten Gillibrand in a landslide. Term limited in 2028, Rubio's VP Eric Cantor becomes the nominee but loses to Newsom.

I will provide maps for 2016, 2020, 2024 and 2028 when I have a chance.

WWIII consists of the US and it's allies against an unlikely alliance of communist nations (New USSR, France, China, Cuba, etc) and radical Islamist nations.

Thanks for liking the timeline!

I believe you can change the states' EV numbers in the calculator.

uselectionatlas.org/TOOLS/genusmap.php?year=2012&ev_c=1&pv_p=1&ev_p=1&type=calc&AL=2;9;6&AK=2;3;5&AZ=2;11;5&AR=2;6;6
&CA=1;55;6&CO=1;9;5&CT=1;7;5&DE=1;3;5&DC=1;3;9&FL=1;29;4&GA=2;16;5&HI=1;4;7&ID=2;4;6&IL=1;20;5&IN=2;11;5&IA=1;6;5&KS=2;6;5&KY=2;8;6&LA=2;8;5&MD=1;10;6&MA=1;11;6
&MI=1;16;5&MN=1;10;5&MS=2;6;5&MO=2;10;5&MT=2;3;5&NV=1;6;5&NH=1;4;5&NJ=1;14;5&NM=1;5;5&NY=1;29;6&NC=2;15;5&ND=2;3;5&OH=1;18;5&OK=2;7;6&OR=1;7;5&PA=1;20;5&RI=1;4;6&SC=2;9;5&SD=2;3;5
&TN=2;11;5&TX=2;38;5&UT=2;6;7&VT=1;3;6&VA=1;13;5&WA=1;12;5&WV=2;5;6&WI=1;10;5&WY=2;3;6&ME=1;2;5&ME1=1;1;5&ME2=1;1;5&NE=2;2;5&NE1=2;1;5&NE2=2;1;5&NE3=2;1;6

Do you see how there are abbreviations for each state (WI, OH, VA, etc.) and then a series of numbers separated by semicolons (for example, AL=2;9;6? Now I don't know what the third number is, but the first number represents the color of the state and therefore the party that wins it (AL's is 2, indicating blue/Republican). The second number is the number of EVs. Alabama has 9 EVs, so the second number is 9, but if I simply take the map link and change the number, I can change the EVs around. Here's the 2012 map, with AL having 66 EVs:

The third number is the shading. A 4 means 40%, 5 means 50%, and so on.

We're coming up on 7:30, and the polls are about to close in 3 more states - North Carolina, Ohio, and West Virginia. While the President would like to carry Ohio again, his campaign pulled out of the state early this fall, and moved those resources to Texas - a state that the President would desperately like to have in his column tonight. Without Texas, the President's path to re-election becomes very difficult.

It's 7:30 EST, and we can make the following projections:

In North Carolina, too early to call but Newsom leads
In Ohio, too early to call but Schock leads
In West Virginia, too early to call but Newsom leads

We just recieved a special alert! We can now project that President Newsom would win the three electoral votes of Vermont. Not a surprising victory at all. We can also project that Schock will win South Carolina. Newsom pulls a slight lead in Kentucky and Virginia but it still is anyone's game in the two states. In Georgia, the race is still neck and neck.

Here is the electoral map. Mr. Schock has 19 electoral votes, Mr. Newsom has 3.

It's 8:00 EST, and the polls have just closed in a bunch of states. We can now make the following projections:

In Alabama: Aaron Schock is the projected winner
In Connecticut: Too early to call, but  Newsom leads
In Delaware: Gavin Newsom is the projected winner
In the District of Columbia: Gavin Newsom is the projected winner
In Florida: Too early to call but Schock leads
In Illinois: Too early to call but Schock leads
In Maine:
Statewide: Too early to call but Schock leads
1st Congressional District: Too early to call but Schock leads
2nd Congressional District: Aaron Schock is the projected winner
In Maryland: Gavin Newsom is the projected winner
In Massachusetts: Gavin Newsom is the projected winner
In Mississippi: Too early to call but Schock leads
In Missouri: Too close to call
In New Hampshire: Aaron Schock is the projected winner
In New Jersey: Too close to call
In Pennsylvania: Too early to call but Schock leads
In Puerto Rico: Too early to call but Newsom leads
In Rhode Island: Gavin Newsom is the projected winner
In Tennessee: Too early to call but Newsom leads

Here is the electoral map as it stands at 8pm. Mr. Romney and Mr. Newsom are tied with 34 electoral votes each.

It's now 8:03 EST and we can project that President Newsom will win the four electoral votes of West Virginia.

While we are wating for more results to come in, here are the tallies so far in the key toss-up states.

Missouri (9 EV)
Newsom 52%
Schock 47%

Kentucky (7 EV)
Schock 49%
Newsom 49%

Virginia (14 EV)
Newsom 53%
Schock 45%

Pennsylvania (19 EV)
Schock 50%
Newsom 48%

New Jersey (14 EV)
Newsom 51%
Schock 48%

Georgia (20 EV)
Newsom 50%
Schock 49%

Here is the electoral map. Mr. Newsom has 38 electoral votes, Mr. Schock has 34. 290 are required to win so it still is anybody's game!

It's 8:10 EST and we have two more important projections to make. We project that President Newsom will win the seventeen crucial electoral votes belonging to North Carolina. He becomes the first Democrat to win the state since Barack Obama in 2008. Schock on the other hand is now projected to win Mississippi. Although the state has recently shifted to the left due to the election of a Democratic governor and a Democratic senator, it is still a haven for many conservatives.

Here is the electoral map. Mr. Newsom is maintains a lead with 56 electoral votes, Mr. Schock has 39.

We are now recieving an important election alert. It's 8:17 PM EST and we can now claim Florida for Senator Aaron Schock. The state has consistently voted Republican in every election since 2016 so it's no "shock" that it was won by Schock. Florida's 36 electoral votes puts Schock ahead of Newsom.

Here is the electoral map. Mr. Schock has 75 electoral votes, Mr. Newsom has 56. Who will reach 290? Stay tuned to find out!

It's 8:25 PM, just five minutes before a whole set of states will close their polls. For the last several minutes, Senator Schock has pulled a lead over President Newsom.

However, now we can project that the president will be winning two states that will be highly beneficial in his path to 290. First up is Tennessee which was one of four southern states Newsom won in 2028, the other three being Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.  The second state that we can now project for Newsom is Virginia, the home state of Vice-President Eric Cantor who won the state by five points in 2028.

Here is the electoral map. Mr. Newsom is in the lead again with 81 electoral votes, Mr. Schock still has 75. As more states are being called, the race seems to be getting closer and closer!

It's 8:30 PM EST and the polls have now just closed in four states.

In Arkansas: Too early to call but Newsom leads
In Louisiana: Too early to call but Newsom leads
In Michigan: Too early to call but Schock leads
In Oklahoma: Aaron Schock is the projected winner

Here is the electoral map. Mr. Newsom is still in the lead with 81 electoral votes, Mr. Schock trails by only one electoral vote at 80.

It's 8:33 PM and we can now make a call for Newsom. The president is now projected to win the nine electoral votes belonging to Missouri. Senator Schock was really hoping to win the state as he was ahead in polls there by less than a point a week ago. However, Missouri will remain in the Democratic column for tonight.

Here is the electoral map. Mr. Newsom widens his lead with 90 electoral votes, Mr. Schock is behind with 80. With many tossup states not called yet, the election can still go either way.
