It should be Griffin running for Governor and Hutchinson for Lt. Governor, don't you think?

yes, I agree. Don't know why AR reps have to settle for Hutchinson.

In December 2012 Griffin had been appointed to W&M, and cited that as the reason he wouldn't seek an upgrade this year. He wants to spend more time with his family and a part-time job like LG enables him to do that. With a weak local bench he can pick his moment to run for guv.

Arkansas is a weird state actually. They require a 3/4 supermajority for both tax increases and to pass the budget:

Griffin should be able to win the LG's office in a massive landslide (64%) in November.

While we're at it, how about making the Arkansas Governor reduced to a weak chief executive like North Carolina and my home state of Texas. That way, Arkansas can have the LG more an influential and powerful statewide officeholder besides being President of the State Senate; it would be nice to have the Arkansas LG appoint committee chairmanships (if they haven't already, so let me know).

So, according to Mike Ross' Wikipedia article, he's apparently in favor of marijuana legalization.  Is that true?  That would be very unusual position for a Blue Dog to endorse.

As is this position. If Hutchinson had 2 pennies to rub together he could plaster the airwaves with that, Obamacare, and Ross' backflip on abortion.

The AR Education Association, which Hutchinson had tried to get support from, endorsed Ross.

Ross will need Clinton in Arkansas 24/7 if he wants to keep the governorship in Democratic hands.

Its just a common nickname in the south. It seems you don't hear it much anymore though.

What are Bebee's current job approval ratings so far ?

Will they help Ross in his uphill bid to keep the AR governorship in Democratic hands, considering the other down-ballot statewide offices are likely going to Republicans.

There are now more Republicans in Arkansas than there are Democrats, judging by the number of people participating in GOP primaries as opposed to Democratic primaries in the state.

This NYT piece on AR is probably one of the best race profiles I've seen this cycle.

The articles has interactive maps, which it cites the Atlas for. Smiley
