Stalin didn't die by the bullet, he died of a stroke.

Stalin didn't die by the bullet, he died of a stroke.

That was the official version of events at the time, but memoirs released in the 1990s and studies in the 2000s pretty much agree that Stalin was poisoned with warfarin, most likely on Beria's orders.

Let's put it that way: this is not a universally accepted version of events Smiley

A horrible human being avoided a horrible end. Good for him, I guess?

Good. The last thing we need is him becoming a martyr of the natalists.

Eh. There's not even any solid proof that Kirov died on Stalin's orders. And I was surprised to learn that the official account of Ordzhonikidse's death is most probably entirely truthful.
Now this, of course, is an actual case of "you reap what you sow". Murder people near you, and people will assume any unexpected death near you is a murder.

As to this... yeah, you'll get desperate crazies everywhere.

This is true as well, of course.

Anyways, he deserves to be booted from office. He does not deserve a violent death.

I think a prison cell would also be appropriate, but yeah, a violent death would be rather excessive.

He needs a very embarrassing and ignominious removal from office and a jail sentence, nothing more than that. Legal proceedings have begun against him in the past, but they always seem to just bog down. He reminds me of the sheriff from Unforgiven, although not as good an actor as Gene Hackman, of course.
