Aliens certainly exist out there somewhere. I think they probably don't have the capability or desire to visit Earth, but sometimes, things make me wonder. The events surrounding Lee Harvey Oswald are suspicious as hell. I think there's reason to believe Bush lied about WMD's. For the rest, I either definitely don't believe them, or think there's some chance it might be true but highly improbable (like bigfoot).

Also, here's the conspiracy theories from this list that I find to be credible enough to be suspicious (not counting the ones that are explicitly true, of course):

  • The UFO wreckage theory is used as a smokescreen by the government to cover up the fact that Area 51 is a testing ground for experimental aircraft.
  • The government is minimizing the involvement of up to 17 men besides Terry Nichols and Timothy McVeigh in the OKC bombing
  • J. Edgar Hoover was blackmailing important people in the US Government to keep his job as head of the FBI.
  • JFK was not killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, acting alone.
  • RFK was not killed by Sirhan Sirhan, acting alone.
  • Bush deliberately lied to get the US to invade Iraq.
  • The Reagan campaign made a deal with the Iranian government not to release the hostages until after Reagan was elected President.
  • Gary Webb was suicided by the CIA and/or drug interests.
  • That the Coca-Cola company intentionally changed the formula of its marquee product with the intent of trying to boost sales for the "real thing."
  • Big businesses and politicians are in league to increase the number of prisoners in the US to make a profit.

Bush wasn't the first one to allege that Iraq was holding WMDs, was he?  I don't believe he was, but I might be wrong.

Bush was not the first person to allege this, and I don't blame him for it either. I blame the lie of Cheney and Rumsfeld and the rest of the neocons who pushed the war ever since the Project for the New American Century started.

-I do believe the Bush Administration lied about WMDs in Iraq

-I think it's possible somebody else was involved in JFK's assassination

-What is "The Pharmacy"?  If you are asking whether or not I believe the pharmaceutical industry invents diseases to sell drugs... YES.  They absolutely make up crap.

Thanks for the info on New World Order, Bacon King.  I didn't realize that novus ordo seclorum was a quote from that poem by Virgil.  I find it interesting that it's the same poem that was considered a prophecy of Christ by the likes of Augustine, Dante and Milton.

I have a hard time believing Oswald acted alone - that's the only one I semi-believe (other than what I said about global warming).

It strikes me that Bush lying about the presence of WMDs in Iraq to start a war to get to oil fields is in this list along with lizard people. I mean, ask anybody outside the US, they will tell you "of course he did lie". It's just not a conspiracy theory.

So just that for me. But I read David Icke's book (well, parts of it), and it really is a laugh ! Cheesy

I was pointing to the fact that it is so incredibly widely acknowledged to be true, except in your particular country, that nowhere else would it even be imaginable to include it in a list of conspiracy theories. I didn't use logic or any demonstration here. Just poiting discrepancies of points of view across the world. Stop trying to force your way into the sulfur mine.

Of course, because if anybody would know secrets in the Bush the Lesser White House it would be everybody that lives outside the US.  You Euros are especially known for not being ones to fall for conspiracy theories, so it must be true.

Just a comment about the cocaine distribution - here in Thailand it is considered common knowledge that the drugs smuggling and even the drugs manufacturing business are dominated by or at least are the prime source of illegal funding or the military here (I don't mean for the military budget, I mean to create the vast fortunes for the upper officer class as well as trickle down a bit on the lower officers).

As the guardians of the borders obviously they help drugs enter in order to make money.  I never find it hard to believe that parts of government are involved in illegal activities - more often than not this is why they are illegal.

Aliens, Bigfoot (at least insofar as I believe there is at least one species of large hominid presently unknown to science, be it Bigfoot, Yeti, or something else), and Bush.

First, I think that Bush may have lied about WMD's, but I can't for the life of me understand why he would have.  Perhaps he thought they were there at first, but eventually started lying at some point in a failed attempt to avoid embarrassment.
Second, I think there is a substantial chance of a conspiracy related to JFK, but I have not seen sufficient evidence to convince me that the Warren Commission findings are not the most likely story.
Third, of course I believe aliens exist, given how many stars and planets there are in the universe.  However, I see no evidence that they have visited Earth.
The rest are either a negligible chance or no chance at all.

I think the point here is that people outside the United States have a better vantage point about the American government's impact on the world (which is a lot bigger than the United States, you know..) than most Americans have.

Europeans were not coerced into a false patriotism the way Americans were in the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq.
