in other words, American elections have nothing to do with policy preferences, even to the extent that it is possible to figure out what policy preferences the given candidates represent.

just a memory, I was on a train during my stoner days with my stoner buddy, back in summer 2009, and we were considering how awesome it would have been if the money poured into Iraq instead went to building a  kick-ass high-speed rail network.
