If it were really the insult to democracy you claim, why would all of Latin America be recognising the victory? None of the 'evidence' I've seen has been particularly persuasive and is said by the usual suspects - the opposition - who are not inherently more democratic, either, as history has shown.  Indeed some of it is claimed to be falsified.

Most of the deaths I've read have been caused by the anti-government crowd, who are being urged on by the main opposition leader. Quite frankly I think it's fairly sensible to treating this as a coup attempt. To let it happen would be an insult to socialists everywhere.
