Lincoln hardly started the Civil War.

There's only space for one more head, and IMO it's reserved for FDR.

So great that his very election helped push an already deeply tense and divided nation into an incredibly bloody Civil War, during which he shut down newspapers and affronted civil liberties in other ways.

That war wasn't his fault, it was going to happen anyway.

That war wasn't his fault, it was going to happen anyway.

It was inevitable, but it's timing was sped up with his candidacy and election.

In that case, blame the fact that Lincoln had 3 opponets, all of which either died or joined the Confederacy.

I'd say no. However, I strongly believe FDR belongs there (and I think ahead of Lincoln or Teddy Roosevelt).

Perhaps, but FDR deserves it more.
