Lets hope Inouye's wish is finally realized.

Inouye is not a god.

I am a Schatz supporter. Hanabusa reminds me of Ro Khanna in California, believing that she is entitled to the seat. Schatz has more potential than Hanabusa ever will.

Abercrombie has to be feeling relieved now.

Still, the second part of this equation will be finding someone else to primary Abercrombie.

I really don't like this from a political viewpoint, but she will win. The Japanese have a culture of strong respect, and when an elder's will is dictated, then it's strictly adhered to.

Here's to hoping Schatz goes for HI-1.

But... Why? Yeah, Inouye was a legend in Hawaiian politics, but he had his own interests, and Hanabusa served those interests.

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with Schatz.

See my last post. I'm guessing she's running to "right the wrong" Abercrombie made against Inouye and his last wishes.

Sigh, why do so many primary challenges in the Democratic party have to be from the right?

Hanabusa is hardly to the right, they have basically the same beliefs.

Endorsed, America needs more women in the senate.

The DSCC is supporting Schatz, as you would expect.

Still, they're not going to get very involved in a state thats safe for them in the general.

So?  Inouye doesn't get to dictate who should keep his seat after he leaves.

Not repeating myself. The people get to dictate who gets the seat, and the people seem to be leaning towards Hanabusa.

Terrible is she wins. Hawaii is shooting itself in the foot with regards to seniority.

Schatz has my full support.

EMILY's List is endorsing her, and apparently she's ahead in internals.

Good. I was worried about her weak fundraising quarter, but now that she's actually in, things should pick up and this will help.

I don't like this politically either -- Hanabusa knows she's not staying long and the governorship is honestly more prestigious. Ah well, at least they're practically the same ideologically.
