Its not finished yet. That isn't even a current text, it is going to be an amendment by tomorrow hopefully. I had planned to finish it today, but I lost precious time in an unnecessary heated exchange wtih the President.

That said, we are thinking about potentially also attaching the Reorganization Act seen above as a rider since this bill will need that to be passed and it won't be brought up for some time seperately.

1. Building More Facilities
- Posted an inquiry with the GM this morning.

2. Support for Family Members of Patients
- Where are all those Labor Party Senators when we need them? Tongue

3. Pushing back the dates.
-  Two weeks is pushing it. Nah, Superique can handle it Wink

4. Attaching the Executive Branch Reorganization Act as a rider.
- It needs to be law for this to work now, and the quickest way is this method.

That is what remains to be done here.

There is at least one date of implementation set for August 1st. When I first wrote that part of the text, it was way back in May I think.

Check this and see if it has a list of the areas where there shortages or maybe even a map. Superique will need it when the time comes.

I could load this one at least, but it jammed and then crashed.

It's a list of areas with shortages...

200 pages long. It lists all catchment areas and facilities with mental health care shortage in 2011.

Superique can manage that. Evil Tongue

We have to find a map or something then, or just a simple list of the locations.

Mr. Game Moderator,

What is the cost for one fully staffed Mental Health Care treatment facility on average? And how many patients (or perhaps I should say coverage radius) can a facility at that price sustain?

A comprehensive mental health care treatment facility (as defined by institutions that offer counseling, therapy, managed care, medication management, psychiatrist services, licensed clinical social work services, peer supports, and substance abuse treatment) that serves a jurisdiction of 100,000 people would have total operating costs of $21.345 M / year. It is expected that an average of 11,500 residents within that jurisdiction would seek some form of treatment at said facility at least once per year. These estimates assume that any jurisdiction in question a) currently lacks a variety of proper mental health care options and b) would ultimately experience a centralization of services based around said facility.

What about construction costs?

Such a facility is assumed to have a 100-bed capacity for special/long-term care needs. Construction costs for the aforementioned facility would be $36.300 B.

are you sure it's not $36.3 M?

Whoops! Yes, it should be million, not billion.

So $36.3 Billion to cover 100,000 people and we have a shortage of around 167,000.

Noticeboard:
April 01, 2013, 07:57:02 pm

OP:

2. Support for Family Members of Patients

3. Pushing back the dates.

4. Attaching the Executive Branch Reorganization Act as a rider.
- It needs to be law for this to work now, and the quickest way is this method.
- I am a little unsure about this now that I think about it. Abolishing the SBA might be controversial. If I push back the dates, enough that will give us time to debate and past that seperately. Three is simple.

Hell it has been over month and a computer since I updated the OP: June 12, 2013, 07:32:17 am, which is when we began focusing on facilities. I hope this issues goes quicker.

Well that is what happens when you have elections, a regional crisis needing emergency legislation, and then a deepening recession sapping people's attention.

The amendment has been adopted.

The question is simple really. How do we expand support for the family members of mental health patients so as to reduce a tremendous disincentive regarding going to get treatment, that of finances?

I don't need a statistic to tell me this exists and it has served to create many of the problems I have to contront because of the environment it produces.

You would think a rated R subject line would get someone's attention. Tongue

I need to know what people are willing to support here (on the issue of providing support to the dependents of the patient or increasing such that is already present) and how much.

Doesn't finances isn't a problem, given Tricare?
