You don't have to be 12 to own sports gear of your favorite team.  Many adults of all ages wear jerseys of their favorite player or championship gear or just team pride.  There is nothing childish about it.

Not childish...but a big waste of money.

Maybe, but using that logic, any money spent on pleasure instead of needs is a waste of money.

I have a very nice Steelers fleece Mrs. M. gave me........she got it for free from a vendor.  Nice in the winter.

Other than that, no, mostly because I'm too cheap to pony up the bucks for the stuff.

I have three Red Sox shirts (Ortiz, Varitek, Middlebrooks), three Flyers shirts (Giroux, Brayden Schenn, Simmonds), one Celtics shirt (Brandon Bass. Long story), two Eagles jerseys (Owens and Dawkins), a Peyton Manning jersey, and a Brian Urlacher jersey. Combine those with the nonplayer apparel and I'm loaded.

I have an Angels hat and some shirts, but I don't wear them except when I go to a game or when they're in the playoffs.

whoa!  seriously?

Okay, I was in the Dollar Tree last week and this pale, lanky whigger with lots of earrings and neck bling comes walking in with his three leggy, brown homegirls.  They're all talking in the deep ebonics dialect, discussing how hideous a recent cover of a Parliament song was.  "Hell, no.  You just don' do that.  nu uh."  (head shake)  He's wearing a big blue jersey with a silver star on the sleeves and STAUBACH and the number 12 in block letters.  He also has a blue and white cap with a silver star on it, cocked sideways on his head with the brim very stiff and straight, like they wear them in the 'hood.  His pants are very baggy denim jeans, so loose that they look like they're about to fall down around his ankles, and they're worn down low enough to reveal his underwear, which are baggy boxer shorts with Cowboys logos on them.

I guess that's how you are with the New York Rangers.

I think 'normal' is - I can't vote because I don't even know the name of any sports team much less have a 'favorite'.

Yes. I have a Steelers jersey (One jersey... In my size, they're hard to find) and a few shirts with Steelers or Pens logos on them.

Sure, a couple fleece hoodies (Giants and 49ers, teams that achieved literal greatness during my childhood that I'll never forget) and a few hats (Yankees). That's it. Not 12 and I'm educated.

It's not apparel, but I have a limited, numbered statue of liberty (about 12 inches or so high) decked out in Yankees garb. She commemorates the 2009 World Series. She's new in the box, and I've been told that in time will be modestly collectible. I also have a bobblehead set of the "Core Four" (Jeter, Pettitte, Mo, and Georgie) that commemorates the 2009 WS. New in boxes, one or two of them are numbered.  If you're not a Yankee fan, you just missed out, sorry. Wink

Mind you, including the two shirts I bought on Tuesday, I have a grand total of four Thunder short sleeve shirts and 1 Thunder long sleeve shirt.  Only three of the short sleeve shirts fit.

I don't even own any Oklahoma Sooner shirts.

The only piece of clothing I have is a New York Giants baseball cap.  I had a couple jackets as well when I was younger.

I've also gotten as gifts up a couple other Giants-themed things over the years: namely,  a coffee mug, a couple pint glasses, and a Giants-themed Monopoly set.  Which, funnily enough, I've played exactly once- with a group of friends who a) were all Eagles fans, and b) share with me a general disdain for Monopoly as inferior to good boardgames.  (Most people don't know what you mean when you say that boardgaming is a hobby of yours; they think it means Monopoly when that couldn't be further from the truth.)

I have a San Francisco Giants t-shirt, and am proud to say that I've had it since ~2005. That's about it, though.

I have a bunch of KU stuff, but I think that's pretty normal considering it's my university.

For the Chiefs, I have two jerseys (Cassel and Charles), a regular teeshirt, and a hoodie. For the Royals, I have a hat and a regular teeshirt. I also have a Sporting KC jacket.

Good God...most of what I wear is Eagles clothing. I own like 10 jerseys and 10 T-shirts plus a couple sweatshirts. I think all of two jerseys are players still on the team...Vick (Eagles and Falcons), McCoy, Asomugha, Dawkins, White, Stewart, Samuel. I also have an Eddie Royal Broncos jersey and a Ray Rice Ravens jersey. Also an Iverson one Smiley

My career is sports though, so I'm not your run of the mill fan. I'm already looking out for who I might want someday out of Chip's crop. I really, really like Poyer and Johnson for potential jerseys in a couple years.

you so funny.

no but this dude was serious.  He did have three young honeys with very long brown legs and high, hard, round buttocks that jmfcst would appreciate, so I guess he did have something going for him.  I couldn't decide what was more memorable, his pretty-fly-for-a-white-guy attitude or his I Bleed Blue And Silver wardrobe.  I wish I'd had a videocam so I could share it with you.  He was so cute in that Gangnam Style sort of way.  You don't know whether to laugh with him or at him.
