Hey sounds like a win-win. Weakens Assad and gets bad publicity for Israel and Netanyahu.

You'd think an Arab country in civil war would be quick to talk about how everyone needed to unite against Israel. But I'm guessing the war is a little too serious to bother with responding to Israel.

This has happened serial times in the last couple of years. It's not that big a deal.

Still, extremely odd that the Syrian government has guns to spare.

So yeah, it was Israel bombing missiles that could potentially be used to carry chemical weapons, that were headings towards Hezbollah's hands.
(Like I said in the other thread, Israel will do anything to keep Hezbollah for getting chemical weapons... which is why if Hezbollah openly and militarily intervenes in Syria it could cause Israel to go ballistic, literally)

The Syrian response so far seems to be "that didn't actually happen," though Israel and the US have confirmed it. Hopefully it stay that way. I think Israel did a similar strike earlier in the year too.

That's a win?

I don't see how it does that, though, so it's OK.

I think Israel might have decided to decapitate Syria's chemical weapons program expecting the inevitable fall of said weapons into the hands of Hezbollah or Syrian Rebels.

You think I'd ever vote for Netanyahu and Likud?

Admittedly not, but I still think cheering bad publicity for a whole country isn't something you would do for most states and is a bit difficult to understand. Not unexpected -- many people have a double standard for the Israeli state -- but it's still difficult to understand. (I can explain why many people have such negative opinions with a word that starts with 'a', ends with 'm', and has a dash in the middle, but I rather doubt that applies to your opinions.)

On the other hand, Netanyahu is clearly not a politician you would approve of for numerous reasons.

The Assad government says that Israel's strikes are a "declaration of war", and Israel is moving two Iron Dome batteries to the north of the country, to try to repel any potential Syrian counterattack:
