Maybe Latham will reconsider now that he has a free path to the nomination.

Wishful thinking...

Matt Schultz (state Secretary of State of Iowa, elected very narrowly, 49-47, in 2010) seems to be the fellow the Republicans are trying to get next. He's, interestingly enough, a Mormon. Braley is more experienced and more entrenched, but Schultz has run a successful statewide campaign before, whereas Braley has not. We'll see how it goes, but Braley is probably initially favored.

Maybe Latham will reconsider now that he has a free path to the nomination.

There's been some rumors of this, yes...

Paging Matt Schultz and Tom Latham. No one ever thought King would actually run, right?

After this I can almost see Latham reconsidering, like Connie Mack last year.

If Tom Latham runs, he will have a tea party opponent. Tilt democrat with Latham?

Latham was down three points and at only 41% against Braley, not really a slam dunk. If he ran, it would be at least a Lean Democratic affair and Democrats could pick up his house seat.
