The GOP seems to be under the delusion that running minority candidates is "outreach," to minority voters, regardless of how insane, extreme and racist their candidates are.

I just love how every time the GOP runs a minority candidate, people like you deride them as "token." Have you ever wondered that maybe, just maybe, one black Republican might be a real politician with real ambition and not just a show item for the GOP??

Somehow, I doubt the GOP wants minorities to think of that guy as representative of their party.

Considering that Florida has elected 3 Latinos to statewide office (Bob Martinez -1986, Mel Martinez-2004 and Marco Rubio-2010), the fact is folks in both parties are trying.

Is the Florida Supreme Court elected statewide?

As someone who has observed politics for 15 years, I've seen your party trot out enough tokens in front of the camera over the years to grow very skeptical.  But if y'all want to run more Alan Keys, Allen Wests, Jennifer Carrolls, E.W. Jacksons, Herman Cains and this fool be my guest.  The voter suppression and draconian immigration policies and the Willie Horton ads and their ilk over the years show us what's really going on.  I think most minority voters recognize this because most of us don't vote for your party.

Of course there is your dear Saint Rubio.  But his political standing isn't looking so great these days, it is?

Are you serious?

How long before Democrats pressure U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) to enter the gubernatorial campaign?

Meh. A ham sandwich with no campaign should be able to beat the criminal Rick Scott. If not, Floridians deserve what they get. It's not worth losing a Senate seat over, especially with the majority at stake.

Well, i respected J.C. Watts, for example (though we have very different views on many issues) and some other Black Republicans - both moderates and conservatives. But concerning this particular guy - i agree 101%: rare idiot)))))

He doesn't need any help with a name like that- especially if he calls his father for help!

J.C. Watts has actually been elected statewide office before, to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission in 1990, serving until his election to Congress in 1994.

Indeed, Watts would be a much stronger candidate than Scott. The carpetbagging issue might bedevil him however.

Which should surprise exactly nobody. Charlie Crist's former (maybe still current?) boss and key adviser John Morgan is the one leading the medical marijuana initiative.

Crist, so far as I can tell, never issued any kind of statement on medical marijuana before the past few months.

Just watched the MITT documentary and surprise, surprise, showed Crist as an opportunist douche. He swore up and down to multiple members of Romney's campaign (including Romney himself) that it was nothing personal, he just wanted to stay on the sidelines. Then he goes out and endorses McCain two days before the primary without saying a word to Romney, likely handing McCain the state and possibly the nomination.

Roll Eyes People to continue to support this guy...

Few Democrats on this forum actually like Crist. We just seem him as the lesser of two evils.
