Florida Democrats are HORRIBLE at statewide offices.

They haven't won the governorship since 1994 and they haven't won some down-ballot offices since like 1998.

Scott could still pull this off and we've seen previous governors win reelection despite poor approval ratings before.

So the showdown begins: Crist, who will have to explain why he bailed to the Dems and Scott, who is rebounding of approval ratings, etc.,

If and a big IF, Crist pulls this off and wins in 2014 and gets reelected in 2018, he would be Florida's longest-serving governor with 12 years of service.

Bet y'all $27 that the 2014 campaign for FL Gov gets NASTY, with lots of negative TV ads pissing millions of Floridians off.

Let me guess, Scott moves to a rental mansion while the FL Governor's Mansion is being repaired.

Scott's LGs so far have been:
1.) African American female and 3-term State Rep in Jennifer Carroll, who served as LG until her resignation under political scandal
2.) Latino male and former State Rep in Carlos Lopez-Cantera.

That's historic man !

It's going to be interesting to see how Crist chooses his LG

Considering that Florida has elected 3 Latinos to statewide office (Bob Martinez -1986, Mel Martinez-2004 and Marco Rubio-2010), the fact is folks in both parties are trying.

Is the Florida Supreme Court elected statewide?

Are you serious?

How long before Democrats pressure U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) to enter the gubernatorial campaign?

J.C. Watts has actually been elected statewide office before, to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission in 1990, serving until his election to Congress in 1994.

I'm still waiting on Crist's campaign and the Democratic Governors Association to start running television advertising against Scott

Crist will easily win the Democratic nomination for Governor and win the general election in November.

Crist has 3 statewide election victories in his belt as Education Commissioner in 2000, State Attorney General in 2002 and Governor in 2006.

Scott vs Crist will be like Obama v Romney: where an unpopular incumbent uses negative TV ads 24/7 to hammer Crist nonstop.

Scott will also blame the state's economic problems on Crist.

Crist needs Bill Clinton to campaign for him very aggressively throughout the Sunshine State.

After all, Clinton IS the most popular Democrat.

Democratic Governors Association will be helping Crist alot with TV Ads and other stuff.

On the down ballot statewide offices, how do y'all see State AG, CFO, and Agriculture Commissioner going ?

In other words, those 3 down ballot statewide offices will stay Red until either 2018 or 2022.

Crist will need the Clintons, the Democratic Governors Association and others to help him out.

Scott is doing what Obama did to Romney in 2012: hammer your opponent so bad and very early, that people would believe it.

Why isn't Crist firing back at Scott with negative TV Ads?

It's obvious those two are gonna face off in the fall.

Florida Democrats are gonna wish U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) had jumped into this race because he would've beaten the crap out of Scott.

Florida Democrats will forever RUE the day they should've got Nelson to run for the Florida governorship this year. He would've easily beat the sh**t out of Scott.

What the Florida Democrats need is to recruit Big City Mayors to run for statewide office in the future.

Dem State Legislators aren't gonna cut it.

Is Scott going to try to play the LeBron left Miami card and blame Crist ?
