Are you serious?

How long before Democrats pressure U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) to enter the gubernatorial campaign?

Meh. A ham sandwich with no campaign should be able to beat the criminal Rick Scott. If not, Floridians deserve what they get. It's not worth losing a Senate seat over, especially with the majority at stake.

Everyone knows Scott is a criminal though, so will this hurt him?

So when does Crist plan on advertising? He seems to be making the Romney mistake of letting his opponent have the airwaves to himself for a long period of time. It might not end up mattering in the end since Scott is so toxic, but it seems like a severe miscalculation.

I haven't seen the actual poll but according to WFLA twitter Crist has opened a 6% lead. Keep in mind the last time WFLA polled- around July 8th- Scott led 45-43 which was taken just before Crist aired his first ad.

Is this Crist's LT Gov selection bounce?

The SUSA poll of this race has always been swingy for seemingly no reason. But the fact that people were using Scott's 1 point lead in it to predict Crist's demise was pretty amusing.

The Rev. Manuel Sykes is set to endorse Rick Scott. Sykes was briefly a candidate for Congress in FL-13 before being forced out by Pinellas Dem leadership, and is a prominent leader of the black community in the region.

I'm sure this is out of genuine conviction and not bitterness and spite.

...you're supporting Charlie Crist in this one, right?

Checkpoint Charlie switched parties out of blatant opportunism and lack of political convictions, not bitterness and spite. Get it right. Tongue

Wasn't it bitterness when he saw Rubio would beat him in the primary?

No, it was political expediency. Running as an independent was the only way for him to win at that point.

The Tampa Bay times endorses Crist. Reportedly, it hasn't been friendly to him in past years.

Endorsing the one who isn't a criminal is the responsible choice.

Michelle's coming to town on Friday!

Wonderful news! Let's hope she can impart upon soon-to-be-Governor-again Crist some spanking tips and tricks. He's gonna need them in three weeks!

Stupendous news! Let's hope Crist buys up the domain vote.charliechrist.com as a precaution. Tongue

The latter two are. The first one is not. Charlie Crist is not a criminal (at least that we know of).

LOL, looks like the criminal isn't thinking straight. He must be scared of the eminent thrashing that awaits him in 20 short days. Criminals do not get through Checkpoint Charlie!

While Scott shouldn't have thrown a hissy fit, let's not lose sight of the fact that diva Charlie needed a fan at his legs.

I don't know why Voldemort was worried about the fan. It's not like it could've ruined his hair.

No, a woman who he never once even kissed over eight months. They might have been engaged IIRC. She is a distant relative, but her mother (my great-aunt) would know. Just a stupid little story that doesn't detract from what happened tonight outside of my own butt-hurtery.

lol

Well, I hope you enjoy your first gay Democratic governor after he gives the criminal his overdue spanking. Wink Charlie got to be the first gay Republican one too! Truly a trailblazer.

Scott's campaign's response to #fangate is something else:

How hilarious would it be if Crist actually brought those things to the debate?

Fangate is a stupid reason not to vote for Scott.

Yeah, being a criminal Medicare fraudster is a much better reason, but I'll take what I can get at this point.

Reportedly Scott is self-funding $22M (!) for ads these next two weeks.

I'd imagine this race has long reached the saturation point in terms of ads. At least he's putting the money he earned through fraud back into the Florida economy on his way out. Wink

Crist and Scott on the execution postponement

If gubernatorial debates were as widely watched as presidential debates, there's absolutely no way Rick Scott would still be in this race. What a brutal exchange.

Man, the criminal is really awkward during debates. I watched the last one, and I thought maybe it was just because he was unnerved from the fan debacle, but it seems to be par for the course.

Democrats continue to chip away at Republicans' early vote + absentee lead.

On Sunday morning, Republicans led by 8.4% overall. Today, their lead is down to 7.6%.

7.6% is still a pretty big lead, though.

It was 15% at this point in 2010 though.

When the criminal won by 1 point.
