Because he wished to destroy both capitalism and liberal government.

Well I guess the uninformed voter turnout is high, and those are good things.

Yea, that was an interesting choice of words, since the governments he "destroyed" were anything but.

are you claiming the Russian Provisional Government wasn't liberal?

I don't get how Lenin can be getting this much support.  Thatcher's policies caused economic dislocation and poverty for many people, but nothing compared to what Lenin did on that front.  Thatcher supported repressive and genocidal regimes; Lenin led a repressive and genocidal regime.

accusing Lenin of genocide is rather novel.

It's not. It's a reasonably accurate description of Decossackization.

My feelings exactly, especially considering how many people on here are big lovers of Eugene Debs.

Anyway, if it's a US election, Thatcher/Thatcher.  If it's a global one, Thatcher/Lenin.

Not really. It's pretty much how people who don't put ideology before everything else would evaluate one of the most bloodthirsty dictators of the 20th Century.

Lenin certainly had a lot of people killed, though genocide is too specific of a word to use in that context.

I would never vote for either of the two for anything. I'm an actual socialist, not a proto-Soviet.

Easily Thatcher/Thatcher, though I might throw up in my mouth a bit at the voting booth.
