Bizarrely enough I have a female house-guest.  Normally no one enters my house except for the maid(s) and that only rarely.  So, its an adjustment, but, she's leaving tomorrow.

You dawg, you.  We expect full gory details later.  Cheesy

Hmmm...

Last day of school was yesterday. I took my Forensics exam that day and probably did pretty well on it, though I've no idea. I was able to close some various business deals that day including getting paid at work and selling a ticket for the band's upcoming show on the 26th. I was planning on relaxing at my pad for the rest of the day after I left school, but a co-worker/classmate/friend/guitarist of mine was sick so I had to go into work. Got some Little Caesar's for dinner (which is about the third time I've eaten dinner at work) and headed home.

Today, I nonetheless had to go into school for some "graduation practice" type deal. I sold back my books to the school and got my religion final back. Made some money today also selling my religion books to a Junior, and I sold another ticket. A profitable two days. Now I'll never be obligated to step inside that building again unless it rains on graduation.

School is over for the Seniors and Juniors. The Seniors left at noon, and drove around the parking lot honking their horns loud as they celebrated their graduation. I had a few more classes and am about to go to the funeral home and the Cracker Barrel as part of my quest for employment.

Got up at ~6:20, went to the gym, had breakfast, went to class, surfed Youtube, finished a 3.9 mile walk in 50 minutes, and currently procrastinating on here instead of studying for organic chemistry or physics.

The Rangers lost last night, which of course is truly awful... but the girl I'm into is a Ranger fan, as well, and she made sure to text me after the loss.  Hearing from her took away the sting a little bit.

Is that the same girl you were telling Uncle angus and I about?  Sorry about the Rangers.

Indeed.

Latest update: finished my Criminal Law exam and my first year of law school is OVER! DONE!  FINI!  Sitting down with a cold six of Yueng and reveling in my joy.

Well I watched the Penguins take a 2-0 lead thanks to a Crosby hat trick, then tuned into the end of the Pirate game to watch the Astros blow the lead.  Glorious.

Now I'm off to do some chores around the house, hit the grocery store, then grill something later (accompanied by a martini or two, of course)

Again, no brief relaxations to report.  Sad

At Science Olympiad tournament in Ohio.  Over the past few days I attended demonstrations, went swimming and rock climbing, and ate way too much junk food.

My cat's dying of renal failure. I've had him since I was four.

Sad Sorry to hear that. I can't imagine the feeling.

As for me, I'm out of my dorm room now! It really feels weird to leave the place that has been my home for almost a full year... I hold out a little hope that I can meet a few friends one last time, but for some reason it always gets complicated.

I doubt Pando will last the night. To afleitch, Antonio, and ProgressiveRealist (who expressed his condolences in another venue), thank you so much. Losses like this are always hard and I'm not really sure what more to say about it right now. He's still breathing, but only just.

EDIT: He's in end stage renal disease and his life signs are starting to go. He can no longer move any voluntary muscles, including those controlling his eyes, and he's cold to the touch. He'll be dead within a few hours. He's lying down with me and my best friend on either side of him, listening to hymns.

I took the day off from doing any real work. I slept in until noon and got caught up on sleep from the week (which has become my standard Saturday activity of late). I read some Lord of the Rings, perused Atlas, and didn't leave my apartment until 6pm. At 6pm, I went for a run around the hilly park near where I live. It was pretty humid out and I felt pretty bad. My stomach was also rather irritable. It was a rough 10 miles. I came back and ate chicken noodle soup for dinner as I perused Atlas. I went grocery shopping and paid bills in the evening. It's incredible ow short the day is when you sleep through half of it.

Is it odd that I wake up at 7:30 on weekends?

Not really. Some people need to wake up about the same time every day to function. Some people are also naturally morning people. I am not. I am a morning person during the week because I need to be, but left up to my own devices can pretty much sleep indefinitely.

You have my deepest condolences. I'm not sure if that's the word I should be using for this situation, but considering the kind of relationship you had with him it probably is. I hope you are not suffering too much.

Honestly, right now I want to talk and think about almost anything else. My best friend and I went for a long walk in the rainy night afterwards, and tomorrow we'll go to a Pentecost service together and then maybe drive out to the Pine Barrens (I'm at my mother's house in New Jersey right now) and just...be out there, for a while.

I barely remember a time before him. He was four years younger than me to the day or very nearly so, and I'd had him since he was a kitten.

Alright, here goes.

Didn't want to attentionwhore by creating a thread, so I'll just say this here:

I'm addicted to porn.  I've been addicted to it since I was 14 years old.  I imagine to some of you that sounds like Bushie (except I never paid for any of it), but this is really getting out of hand.  For the past week or so I've spent three hours or more daily looking at porn.

I know, masturbation is a natural body function that is no different than blowing snot.  However, I don't think it should be natural, or be accepted, for me to spend days at a time addicted to this.  To some of you this is no big deal, however to me it's so bad I literally lose sleep on some nights on this sh*t.

And no, this isn't some angsty teenager.  I'm 24 years old.  And I sure as hell don't want to wake up twenty years from now, living in my parents house fapping my brains out when I could've done a hell of a lot better with the time I still got.  I've missed out on who knows how many opportunities because of this habit, hurt, and hangup.  This isn't something that's driven out of pure guilt or concern about my eternal salvation (though I will confess that over the last few months I have been active in my church), but just out of need to have a life.  A real Finksing life like the rest of humanity.

Over the past year I've gone from an inactive functional alcoholic who had no hopes and aspirations for his future after college who held a wrongful grudge against his God.  I turned my anger, my hatred, and my utter lack of hope into. . . . well something.  I managed, for a short amount of time, to be gainfully employed and get involved with some friends of mine back home.  I no longer have that job, but by grace I've managed to go about sixty days without a drink.  And it's been over a year since I last smoked a cigarette.  I know this is nonsense to a lot of people, and I can't really blame you for how you came to that conclusion, but I've found God.  And it's the best I've felt since. . . . well I don't know when.

But, I still haven't been able to look at myself in the mirror.  I want to be able to wake up without resorting to the natural tendency to just rub one off.  For me this is spiritual, but at the same time it's very practical.  I want to be able to function everyday without having to look at some pictures of naked people having hardcore sex.  I want to be able to live again.

So please guys, think of me.  Please Cheesy

Great, now the entire community knows I'm a wanker Tongue

Nathan, you have Atlas's condolences.

It's time for me (and one of our other mutual friends who isn't related to this story) to step in. My friend's whipped problem is at a new level. He's always been dreadfully obsequious with women (to the point where he's sold a secret of mine out to try and get laid and bought a girl he was trying to ask out a ring), but AFAIK not at this level.

I introduced my friend (we'll call him Follower from now on) to my best friend (we're calling her BFF). I met BFF online, and we became close to the point where we met IRL. She encouraged me to apply to her college, and I'm going this year. She turned out not to be a 50-year-old hairy pedophile, so you could say it was a success. I told her about Follower, she wanted to meet him, and I introduced them. It was love at first sight for him.

Long story short, after about 6 months, Follower just told BFF he wants to transfer to our college. She just told me the news today. I'm extremely skeptical about this, because he's been working his ass off to transfer to a different school this year, go to ROTC, and go into the army. Now, he wants to throw all of that away for one girl? One girl who basically only wanted him to visit her if I came too? I'm not that desperate that I'd drop everything for any girl.

Okay, maybe if she was Kate Upton. But you get the point. We really need to step in.

tl;dr: My friend is giving up his hopes and dreams as an officer in the army for my best friend. She friendzoned him. My friend and I are going to break the news to him that he's friendzoned so he can continue following his dreams.

First day back at work and I pulled in $220 in 12 hours.  Seems like the whole operation over there got more lucrative while I was busy with my first year of school.  Work again today at 11am, thankfully for just 5 hours this time.  Expecting to make $75.

Happy to know my August excursion to Colorado will easily be paid for.
