I've honestly never understood why Carter is considered so bad a president. An ineffective president almost always beats one who is effective if we go by 20th century standards. He managed to get Israel and Egypt to a peace treaty, didn't substantially expand government power near as much as Bush has, and he could always provide us some comic relief. Frankly the only real beef I have with the guy is the boycott of the 1980 olympics. Plus, if this were a ranking based on supreme court picks Carter wins hands down Wink.
